I have been and may actually continue to be a full on Bush supporter but there is absolutely NO WAY to spin the Fallujah mess as anything but a debacle. The terrorists stared back into our eyes and instead of seeing resolution they saw doubt and they knew they had won.
Consider some of our �victories�
1. We went into Iraq to supposedly stop Saddam from giving his weapons to terrorists. We got there just in time to discover that we couldnt find them. Lets see I wonder where they went? Terrorists? Is this something we can point to as a victory?
2. We went to Iraq to stop the Training of terrorists and to break up the Terrorists and to also show the terrorists that we wouldnt back down when faced with battle. We did fine at first but now that the price is depressing Bush�s poll numbers all of a sudden we are backing down. We are allowing cells of terrorists to negotiate, allowing Ex-Saddam Generals to fight out fights and in general acting exactly like how the terrorists portrayed us�remember when Bin Laden called us the WEAK HORSE.
3. We went into Iraq to stop the violation of Human Rights of the Iraqis�we are going to accomplish this by re-establishing Saddams Generals, Im just a simple country boy but werent they the ones who were doing most of the violating?
The Bush Administrations wheels have come off�they have lost their way in Iraq and its a testament to just how messed up the Democrats are that there is no choice about Bush.
UPDATE: Engaged in a discussion with a Bush Supporter who seems to equate the Failure to find the WMD’s with how much it damages Bush in the election. Im asking a bit bigger question than that….I wonder how much damage it does to the Citizens in NYC when one of them goes off. For instance that Chemical Weapon found in Jordon, had it gone off in NYC would the people not have the duty to ask of the Bush Administration why they failed to round up the WMD’s in IRAQ?
