Power Line: The CIA’s War Against President Bush

Consistently one of the most wrongheaded agencies the CIA has probably been filled by the same group of people that were parading around the streets during the 60′s trying to get the N. Vietnamese to win the war. The strategy of the young protesters evolved from semi-useless protest marches to the best way to fix the system was to join and change it from within. I don’t know why we should expect that the CIA was immune from that sort of infiltration and radical makeover. Especially given the tenure of President Clinton whose administration was filled with ex-protesters who never forgot to check the ideology of anyone they promoted or came into contact with. They all understood that if a persons ideology wasn’t thoroughly checked their work to change the system might be reversed with the admission of counter revolutionaries who saw the world through eyes that hadn’t bought into the notion that the US was the problem.

We cannot forget that these people wrong about Vietnam have never learned from their mistakes. Their world view revolves around the basic fact that the United States is not a noble force for good in the world but a corrupt force of destruction. Include in this group the pragmatists who filled the agency and you have a powerful recipe for disaster. Combining the two most disillusioned groups of people with a bureaucracies natural aversion to admitting fault and you have the CIA as it stands today.

A malevolent force of idiocy driven in large part by two groups who know that they are only in power through sheer force of inertia. Their idea’s having long since been discredited and dismissed by most of the newest actors on the world stage of power. The question becomes given their resources how does one go up against them to once and for all cleanse the CIA of their influence. It isn’t enough to have the will power since you can be certain that they will not give up power willingly, witness the last 3 years of outright revolt by the CIA.

  1. [...] Then we have the laundry list of leaks out of the CIA in what must be understood to be a war against the President of the United States. Laurie Mylroie was the first to notice that war and she was relentlessly attacked for her efforts. Her book Bush vs. the Beltway : How the CIA and the State Department Tried to Stop the War on Terror 2003 was so far ahead of its time that none of the right wing blogs or news sites gave it a mention. What a terrific shame since it was absolutely critical to understanding why we never found WMD’s, Links to Terror and other evidence of Saddams crimes. [...]
