Ann Coulter attacks President Bush for being a wuss re: Roberts so do I re: Islam

Both Ann and I are apparently starting to see through a President that seems to have crumbled both on the judiciary and the war on Islamic Terror…ooops. Not Islamic Terror, no siree that won’t do we are now in a global struggle against extremism , Barry Goldwater duck! “I would remind you that extremism in the defense of liberty is no vice! And let me remind you also that moderation in the pursuit of justice is no virtue.”
Barry M. Goldwater
It certainly won’t do for us to be in a war with Islamic Terror, what would all those Muslim voters think eh? No wonder Normon Mineta has been so busy searching 73 year old New City German Grandmothers, soon the Bush administration will identify that bracket as our new enemy.

The bloom is off the President he has gone soft and wobbly just like his dad. Perhaps he was always like that but for a moment he appeared to have a backbone. I wonder how long it will be before Hugh Hewitt , Captain Ed and the others refuse to identify our war as being against Islamic Terror. They seem to have followed the Presidents lead in every other softheaded pronouncement . I knew we were falling off the tracks when Rich Lowery crumbled under pressure from CAIR and removed the Sword of the Prophet and The Life and Religion of Mohammed from the lists of book availible on the NRO book service, when Conservatives crumbled under pressure from an organization that has known ties to terrorism things started going bad.

Rep. Tancredo stated the obvious and has been absolutely viciously attacked by most of these fair weather warriors. I defend him in this post .

  3. While sitting in an office today I picked up one of the latest US News and World Reports, supposedly featuring an outline of the new 50 page War on Terror document on strategy. That article quoted the strategy as targeting specifically “Islamic extremism,” not merely “extremism.” It also stated that we were going to widen the war by going after more Islamic organizations, instead of focusing so much on Al Qaeda itself. I take this to mean we’re treating this like the global Islamic insurgency it is, with Al Qaeda being the godfather of the local movements.

It was just US News and World Reports, though, so I’d have to read the real document to judge it.

True to MSM form it stated a number of times that this meant a change from “unilateralism,” as if we aren’t already been working with any government we could [from Niger to the Phillipines]. They must think the government/military are as one-dimensional as they are.

  4. I think we need more Tancredo attitudes. I can’t stand political correctness.

One Trackback

  1. […] None of us have the feeling that we stand at the gates of our village defending ourselves from an enemy bent on destroying us and our families. This became evident when we wasted time against our enemy debating how we treat them. Instead of devising better ways of murdering his troops, his support, and bringing woe to his families to break his will, we spent time discussing how we handled his books. We wasted time discussing amongst ourselves whether we should read him his Miranda warning. We at one point even had the President of the United States and his Sec. of Defense debating what we should call this war…whether it was a war against Islamic Fundamentalism or a War on Terror or merely a war against Extremism.
