Jonah Goldberg…speechless at the level of idiocy this post required.

At one time the National Review was a useful tool of the Conservative movement. This is no longer the case and hasn’t been for sometime. Jonah’s post of Aug 29 proves that point. I try not to use vulgarity very often but fuck you Jonah, fuck your ever so carefully cultured superiority, fuck your assumption that you are better than anyone stuck in the superbowl. Fuck you…

Here is the post and the incredible idiocy of the statement proves beyond any shadow of doubt that the Corner has passed beyond usefulness.

ATTN: SUPERDOME RESIDENTS [Jonah Goldberg]
I think it’s time to face facts. That place is going to be a Mad Max/thunderdome Waterworld/Lord of the Flies horror show within the next few hours. My advice is to prepare yourself now. Hoard weapons, grow gills and learn to communicate with serpents. While you’re working on that, find the biggest guy you can and when he’s not expecting it beat him senseless. Gather young fighters around you and tell the womenfolk you will feed and protect any female who agrees to participate without question in your plans to repopulate the earth with a race of gilled-supermen. It’s never too soon to be prepared.

Well Jonah let me just tell you about one lady stuck in there right now…one of those residents you in your smug stupidity attack.

Dr. Mary Darken originally went to John Hopkins in her quest to gain a PHD in Micro Biology, before she could finish her dissertation she quit to raise her family of two marvelous girls. I speak from experience since I married the eldest one.

Dr. Mary Darken then decided to go back to Medical School after raising her daughters to the point that she wasn’t required 24/7. She became a Pediatrician and probably is the very best one I have ever known. When she had to decide which path to go she followed her desire to help people and worked in all the clinics around the city helping the cities poorest.

I don’t much agree with her politics but as a woman she is a tower of a person. You are not.

That is the sort of woman you are insulting. Your sort speaks volumes to the pitiful depths the once mighty National Review has sunk. You aren’t fit to carry her dirty socks much less walk beside her.

The ultimate irony is that should I ever get the chance to stick my fist into your slimy face Dr. Darken would probably stitch you up and comfort your pain. Prick, if you aren’t smart enough to post as an adult then stick to reading your marvel comics and playing your useless time wasters.
Save your sickly  , overwrought   apologies, your true nature has been exposed and you should be ashamed as should your parents.

  1. Yes, J. Goldberg, Dr. Darken is great, probably one of America’s and the world’s greatest pediatrician, a very thorough clinician and diagnostician. She is my daughter’s(her patient) greatest professional inspiration. Only a real heroine would have stayed in New Orleans when she could have left before Hurricane Katrina with her husband and family.

  2. Jonah Goldberg’s posts (the “Attention Superdome Residents” was one) were indefensible, and there’s no defending him. In my opinion, his “overwrought” apologies show he is ashamed as he should be.

    His levity is inexcusable, however his inability to grasp to severity of the situation is not unique to him. I live in Chicago, and I know nobody who lives in New Orleans. However, I had the occassion to see the news on Sunday before the hurricane hit, and I was completely terrified of the situation. I kept bringing up how terrible Katrina could be that evening with my wife and father-in-law, and my wife asked why I was so concerned. I tried to explain it to her, but it wasn’t until Tuesday that she realized what was happening.
    Goldberg’s flippant comments about the Superdome are made worse, precisely because your mother-in-law’s description (and news reports) indicate that the scene in there IS an apocolyptic nightmare.
    I cannot begin to imagine what millions of people are enduring as they have simultaneously lost their homes, their jobs, their ways of life and plenty of loved ones.
    I stumbled across your blog thanks to Wizbang blog, which I visited thanks to the Corner. Thank you for your accounts, and thank you for advice on how to help.

    Glad to hear your family is safe. I have a bad feeling about New Orleans. I think it may turn into a form of Chernobyl due to the toxic waste mixing in the water. It could turn out the best solution is to the burn it down. I think the gummint knows this too but isn’t quite ready to tell the people yet. Sound familar? Hope Mom in law stays safe and bless her fdr staying. Best wishes to you and your family

  9. Excuse me for butting into this but I think you are letting your stress get to you. Yes, your stress, worry, grief and any other emotion you are feeling right now is perfectly understandable with your family’s and LA, MS, AL current extreme crisis. Your Mother in Law sounds like a Saint.
