What is very interesting about this story is exactly how will the police know who has guns or not? Will they merely ask? Or will they use records I had been under the impression were not to be used for the confiscation of weapons, you know those forms that you fill out when you purchase a firearm? The ones that guns rights activists had always warned us would be used to take our weapons away in the event the government felt like it.
Am I the only one who wonders exactly what the hell is going on? We have a government that absolutely completely collapsed, failing over and over again and those are the same people STILL making decisions that will affect people for the rest of their lives? We have a police department that deserted their posts at the most crucial time in the cities history, and they are the ones that are confiscating the weapons? They are the ones that those hardy souls who remain in New Orleans are supposed to trust? Those very same police officers who have robbed, murdered and looted their way into New Orleans history? Exactly when do the adults take over control of the City from that extremely dangerous man Nagin?
Exactly how do we stop a renegade government out of control? Does the Federal Branch step in? Who saves us from the madmen running New Orleans and the crazy witch running Louisiana? Surely what is going to transpire in New Orleans is violating all sorts of Constitutional Laws eh?
