John Hawkins has been kicking ass and taking names these past few weeks on the immigration issue. Due to his brilliant article Answering 13 Frequently Asked Questions About Illegal Immigration, quoted by Rush himself, I have been motivated into believing we can win this fight. So for the last 3 work days I have been going down the list of Republican Senators and calling their DC offices. Boy is that satisfying! No I am not being sarcastic. You can do this too and I recommend it. If nothing else its very cathartic and at least part of my long simmering anger at being played by the Republican Party has dissapated…just a very small part. Republicans stand to lose substantially in the next election if they think they can play their base like they are now attempting. Amnesty by any other name is still amnesty and that dog won’t hunt.
Perhaps it is true that Republicans are only good when they are in the minority? We may find out.
