Laws Broken No Problemo…selling your soul for a Vote how the Republican Party lost its base!

Republican’s, insulated by the Washington DC environment, take big heaping piles of steaming bullshit and pile it on their base. In 2007 after the Republicans lose their majorities in both the Senate and House and we sit around watching the spectacle of a successful impeachment of the President by Democrats, the Republican establishment will have no one to blame but the fella staring back at them in the mirror. Political rule number one, don’t heap steaming piles of bullshit on the heads of people like me.

People like me stand on principal. Even if there were no other reasons to be against illegal immigration we would stand against it because it is against the law. This concept is seemingly foreign to those in Washington DC charged with writing our laws and enforcing them. I fully expect the Democrats not to understand this since they are still figuring out what the meaning of is, is. But Republicans are supposed to be different…having found out they are not leaves a big empty spot where my fondness of the President once resided. You might wonder why I focus on the President…

Having watched President Bush make a mockery of economics with his ridiculous statements that illegals are doing jobs Americans won’t I am faced with the uncomfortable realization that he may be a liar. This has major implications for the rest of his Presidency. See once a person lies and is found out most rational citizens will dismiss any further statements until proven. That could well crush his Presidency. For those who attempt to justify his statements please don’t bother. Any job will be done at a price. Which brings me to the crux of this entire debate/kabuki theatre being played out in the biggest Kabuki theatre in the world, Washington DC.

This entire immigration debate is a diversion from the facts. We have laws on the books that would take care of the illegal immigration problem. We don’t need the Senate to pass new laws. We need Washington DC to enforce the ones we already have. We know from the terrific work John Hawkins has done that again and again the agency once known as INS was thwarted by Senators, both Republican and Democrat, from pursuing illegals. See John Hawkins 13 questions about illegal immigration.

Snippet of that terrific article: In ninety eight, the border patrol noticed that the work force picking onions in the vidalia onion fields of Georgia appeared increasingly to be illegals, so they did some raids, arrested a few dozen illegal aliens, and all the rest of them ran off. So the farmers were there stuck with onions in the ground and no one to pull them out. It was all their own fault, they knew what they were
doing, but nonetheless, they were outraged. They called their Congressmen, and
by the end of the week, three of Georgia’s Congressmen and both Senators,
Republicans and Democrats, wrote a joint letter to the Attorney General
demanding that the Immigration Service stop enforcing the law. Because they said
the INS does not understand the needs of American farmers. Which in ordinary
English means, “let them pick the onions, then arrest them. Preferably before we
have to pay them”. Well, the INS got slapped down and stopped.

We don’t need to arrest and deport millions of people. We need simply to state that we will be enforcing our laws against hiring illegals. We need only prosecute employers who hire illegals. If we were to simply do that our illegal immigration problem would solve itself.

The facts are these.
1. We already have all the laws we need to deal with this problem. We don’t have the will to use them.
2. Declaring that illegals are doing jobs that Americans refuse is insulting and any politicians uttering them should be shown the door.
3. What illegals are doing is depressing the wages and making the poorest of Americans even poorer.
4. What illegals are doing is being almost single handedly responsible for crime waves around the country. See those gang colors, thank illegals for the most part. See The Illegal-Alien Crime Wave Heather Mac Donald
5. It is a fact that those who advocate these new laws aren’t interested in actually enforcing them. Consider if we make all the illegals in this country “Legal” with a wave of our special wand, all of a sudden they will become a lot less valuable as cheap labor. See at that point no one will be able to hire them for below minimum wage with no insurance as they are citizens who deserve the same “worker rights” as other legal citizens. Now they are competing with the other working poor. All of a sudden we need more illegals.

Republicans are trying to get around the fact that they don’t like minimum wage laws. Democrats are trying to get around the fact that they have no agenda that Americans will back so they must import voters. Color me unimpressed by either, color me staying home this November, color me not donating either my time nor my money to the Republican party. Yes I am that angry.

What is the point of being a Republican if we cannot count on them to secure our borders, we have the laws already, enforce the damn things. What is the point of being a Republican if they don’t respect the laws of this land?

  1. Hehe You’re finally getting it on Shrub, eh?

I wouldn’t hold my breath on Bush getting convicted on impeachment charges as the Leaker in Chief regarding the Libby accusations. The only way you are going to get 67 votes is if you have pictures of Bush naked in bed with a ten year old boy.

But I will bet he gets more votes for impeachment than Clinton did.

Lying about a war is more serious than lying about a blowjob.

  2. I’m a Mexican, and I agree with you in what you say, in general. My only disagreement is that American citizens and residents (”legals” then) are commiting a lot of crimes. It’s unfair to blame someone for what they have not done, and it isn’t true that most crimes are comited by illegals.
But I agree with the rest of your article.
If you want to say “no problem” in Spanish, it is “no hay problema”. That’s the correct way. Your article would look much better using correct Spanish.
We are in a big mess. May God help us all out of this.
Sí hay problema, that’s the sad reality.
