Olbermann’s rant on MSNBC should serve as a severe warning to those of us who had threatened to sit this election out. This sort of delusionary idiocy is what is in store for us should we allow those Republicans who did not meet our high standards to lose this November. Hell even Lincoln Chafee is looking good now. Consider that even Chomsky doesn’t think that the United States is fascist.
The Bush Administration as Neville Chamberlain, I seriously didn’t make this up.
That government, like Mr. Rumsfeld’s, had a monopoly on all the facts. It, too, had the “secret information.” It alone had the true picture of the threat. It too dismissed and insulted its critics in terms like Mr. Rumsfeld’s — questioning their intellect and their morality.
Then not skipping a beat the Bush Administration as Hitler.
And about Mr. Rumsfeld’s other main assertion, that this country faces a “new type of fascism.”
As he was correct to remind us how a government that knew everything could get everything wrong, so too was he right when he said that — though probably not in the way he thought he meant it.
This country faces a new type of fascism - indeed.
It is a shame that leftist’s can’t use Mao or Stalin as examples of poor government cause it would have been entertaining to see BushhitlerChamberlain portrayed as one of them. Had Olbermann been able to stick Mao into the mix he would have won the coveted trifecta of inept and overwrought analogies. Just imagine how fun it would be to write out BushHitlerChamberlainMao…!
Donate money now to the Republicans. Even if they double spending at least we won’t face this sort of unhinged behavior by anyone responsible for more than making sure their eye liner is neat before launching into irresponsible rants.
