No fault Government…and the disinterested citizens

We will have no more talk of the witless Clinton Administration bungling the United States Anti Terror efforts. After all such talk casts aspersions upon our Government and that makes all the little bureaucrats nervous. Don’t you know that they realize someone’s head, lots of someones, should have rolled after the failure of 9/11.

WorldNetDaily: Burying the mistakes of 9/11

In the fall of 2005, producer Jonathan Tower optioned the research Peter Lance had been doing on his new investigative book, “Triple Cross.” The book deals with the FBI’s failure to stop Ali A. Mohamed, the infamous al-Qaida spy who had infiltrated the Bureau, the CIA and the Green Berets at Fort Bragg, N.C.

For the proposed documentary, Lance wrote a 10-act treatment in which he outlined the two critical parts of the Ali Mohammed story. The first part tells of Mohamed’s coming to America in 1985, his seduction of a California woman for the sake of marriage, his enlistment in the U.S. Army and his assignment to the JFK Special Warfare School at Fort Bragg. In his Army role, Mohamed was able to steal top-secret documents and send them to al-Qaida honcho Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri.

Course naturally the Bush administration has not cleaned out those whose bungling led directly to 3,000 Americans dying. You know we mustn’t find fault with anyone. No no no finding fault is so judgmental, think of their self esteem, it’s for the children…oops wrong argument template. No lets give the fuckers medals (Tenet) and promotions and hope no one notices how incompetent the Government is. That is what has struck me the hardest since 9/11, just how incredibly incompetent the Government really is.

More problematic still is that the feds who covered-up al-Qaida intelligence in 1996 remain in senior positions at Justice. Fitzgerald is well enough known. Valerie Caproni, who supported Fitzgerald’s 1996 evidence burial and who engineered the 1996 TWA Flight 800 misdirection, is now the FBI’s general counsel.

We spent trillions on Defense and Intelligence in the last 50 years and it bought us enough protection to allow 19 disgruntled Arabs backed by two incompetent Near East and Middle East governments to murder 3,000 of us. Boy was that money well spent or what. PorkBusters call your office!

Now I wouldn’t be nearly as pissed off about all that money being thrown down the money pit if at least ONE person inside of the Government had taken responsibility and quit out of the shame of failure. Maybe I am old fashioned but where I come from when you screw up you admit it and take your lumps. But man oh man did you see how fast everyone in the Government closed ranks around the mantra that it was no one’s fault, it couldn’t be helped. Well at least thats what they said until it was decided by unanimous consent that President Bush had remote piloted all the planes into the towers.

Now I cannot say that it struck me immediately about how eager the Government was to convince us all that “no no no we could not have known about the plot”. “No sireee…man know about the plot??” But it did eventually strike me that the Government, acting as a collective, understood that we might have wondered where the hell all that money we spent on those fools, went? After all when you spend trillions of dollars on Intelligence, it isn’t too much to ask for some intelligence. You know the kind that actually stops attacks that manage to murder us on national tv! No the Government knew immediately that to show weakness might have us wanting the sort of accounting that might throw lots of people (bureaucrats) out of cushy jobs.

Imagine Joe Wilson might not have ever had the chance to lie his lying ass off. His collaboration with his under the covers wife Valerie…oops please don’t tell Fitzgerald I outed her, might not have ever happened. Think of the horror. No Vanity Fair cover….oh my.

But you know what? I don’t think that we give a damn any more than the Government gives a damn about terrorists killing us in the thousands, all of think it will happen to the other guy. We are getting exactly the Government we deserve…we bemoan the fact that President Bush has not called us to arms. Blaming him for our not being mobilized as if he has to carry all of us on his shoulders into the war zone. You are adults why should you have to be told to choose wisely when you decide how to spend your time.

Trust me the people that know me don’t think I am as much fun as I used to be. I am not and I am not sorry. I am usually upset that they waste so much time avoiding the responsibility of citizenship. Being a citizen in this great country in a time of war means dedicating time to study the enemy, support the soldiers and defend the idea of winning. It doesn’t mean going about your life oblivious to the sacrifices of our best young men and women, to the dangers we face and to our responsibility as citizens.

Our Government is incompetent because a large majority of you out there would rather watch the latest reality show then to study how we can make it better. Our Government is incompetent because it is being led by people who know you aren’t paying attention.
