Remember how hysterical Anne Jacobson was said to be by some of the more serious sorts of bloggers when she wrote that tremendously alarming article for Womens Wall Street Journal Terror in the Skies, Again? Donald Sensing took particular pleasure in being the Law Enforcement Skeptic

Count me as one of the skeptics.
One of the things I learned in the years I have spent in law enforcement at both the federal and local level is that witnesses of traumatic events relate few details. When people are frightened or otherwise psychologically shocked, their minds don’t record movies, but snapshots, and not many of them, either.

So then I guess this sort of behavior would draw Mr. Sensings skepticism out as well? Is removing the mirror from the wall behind the cockpit some sort of wierd Middle Eastern Ritual?

Scouting jetliners for new attacks July 22, 2004

A second pilot said that, on one of his recent flights, an air marshal forced his way into the lavatory at the front of his plane after a man of Middle Eastern descent locked himself in for a long period. The marshal found the mirror had been removed and the man was attempting to break through the wall. The cockpit was on the other side.

The second pilot said terrorists are “absolutely” testing security.
“There is a great degree of concern in the airline industry that not only are these dry runs for a terrorist attack, but that there is absolutely no defense capabilities on a vast majority of airlines,” the second pilot said.

Alright I know, old articles, what is the relevence to what is happening today? Hat tip Junkyard Blog, the author of Scouting Jetliners for New Attacks has a new article that ties it all together into a relevent package that just might catch your attention. Or maybe not maybe you are one of those sorts who believe that President Bush is more dangerous than the Terrorists. Course back in 2004 it was laughable that terrorists would attempt to assemble a bomb onboard of a plane…not so funny these days is it?

One passenger was removed from an international flight after it was diverted to Bangor, Maine, when his name reportedly was discovered on a terrorist or no-fly watch list. A Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam to India returned midway, escorted by a military jet, and 12 Muslim men were arrested but released.

The men boarded moments before takeoff and immediately began passing around cellular phones. The disruption frightened passengers, and the men were subdued by U.S. air marshals.

Apparently it is becoming something of a sport to disrupt Western Airlines with Islamic Stand up humor…or maybe something more sinister is going on? Who knows but I do know something, pay attention on flights. Be a sheepdog, not one of the sheep.

“Dear God, I wish I could have been on one of those planes. Maybe I could have made a difference.” When you are truly transformed into a warrior and have truly invested yourself into warriorhood, you want to be there. You want to be able to make a difference.

Don’t be prominent just be ready. Don’t be beligerent or obnoxious but don’t sit there on your ass if you see one of these assclowns stand up. Be polite, friendly and absolutely unafraid of smiling in their faces and asking if you can help them. Don’t let fear rule your day. Overcome it, stand up and be Mister helpful. If it is sinister you are going to die anyways so go down fighting, if it is not sinister your Mister Friendly smile is spreading good cheer to our fellow Middle Eastern citizens. Whatever you do, don’t let some poor 5′ 5″ Flight Attendent fight your fight.

Yea sorry about the title I am still upset that my 74 soon to be 75 year old Mother can absolutely count on getting the full monty search every goddamned time she flies. As if some 74 year old Grandmother is going to remove a mirror and tunnel into the cockpit to do what…overwhelm the pilots? I am pretty damn skeptical of that nonsense.
