Dave it is the Government making sure that those who come into this country have been vetted. It is the Government making sure that those you hire are not illegal and are not being taken advantage of as is done in those huge corporations like Tyson foods and Mohawk carpets. It is the Government making sure that you are not harboring criminals.

The majority of people in this country do not want open borders no matter how good the Globalization freaks seem to think it is. The majority of people in this country want controls on the border. The majority of people in this country don't think that Dave can fit 20 million illegals into his house and so rightly believe that the overflow might end up in their house. We don't want that to happen.

Is it "make-totally-irrelevant-comments-day" again already? Michelle's comment has absolutely nothing to do with the original letter or my response to it.

By the way: Everyone in my house is legal, and I pay their medical bills, provide their food and don't burden the neighbors. I have been supporting family members for ten years. I don't shelter any illegal aliens.

Everyone I hire is legal. Everything I do is legal. I pay all taxes due and comply with all laws.

OK Dave, you certainly may have any guests in YOUR house that you desire. Just how many illegal aliens do you now shelter? Are you paying their medical bills, providing all food and shelter so that you do not burden your neighbor? Have your been deducting the wages you pay from your company's tax return? Are you paying the employer's share of the Social Security tax? Are you paying workmen's comp? What are you doing about providing for this alien's family and extended family? Is your house getting crowded, or have you imposed on your neighbor to house, feed and care for all his relatives? Yes, we could take in the world, but let them come legally.

This is a tired analogy. It's not breaking into someone's house; it's the government telling me who I can and cannot have as guests in my house; it is the government telling me who I can and cannot hire; it is the government telling me to whom I can and cannot rent an apartment
