To think I am paying good money for this sort of flawed and dangerous research by the folks responsible for defending us. There isn’t enough time this morning to disassemble all of the report though it is only a lack of time that limits the destruction I could do. Exactly how am I supposed to be confident about the future of this country when the sort of lazy ass covering thinking on display in the Senate Report is the order of the day for our government? No wonder our government is the laughing stock of terrorists the world over.
Safe Haven to TerroristsÂ
Let’s just start with the fact that under safe haven in Iraq they conveniently forget to list Abdul Rahman Yasin. Oops. Though I can understand why that might be just a bit embarrassing to the Government. After all he was only one of the main bomb makers for the World Trade Tower 1993 attempt to murder thousands of us. He didn’t slip out of the country after that attempt to collapse one tower into the other. No sir, he was let go after being questioned by the FBI. Did he go to Afghanistan, Sudan or any one of the other failed states where Al Qaeda had offices. Nope. He went to Iraq and was given safe haven there.
In the spring of 1994, a Jordanian stringer working for ABC News spotted Abdul Rahman Yasin outside his father’s house in Baghdad and learned from neighbors that he worked for the Iraqi government. Â
After that the Iraqi Government moved him to a house where he continued to have access to his ailing mother. Furthermore in 2002 he was interviewed on TV by CBS News. Remember that his boss Ramsey Yousef is now serving time in our highest security jail in Colorado. Ramsey Yousef the main bomb-maker also known in terrorist circles as the “The Iraqi” must be jealous of Abdul’s celebrity status.
How does Iraq giving haven to Abdul Rahman Yasin not get into this report? Is Abdul Al Qaeda? We don’t know for sure but lately it has become fashionable to blame Al Qaeda for the 1993 attack. For that reason alone Abdul should have made the cut. That he was born in America might have also been interesting to explore. That he had moved to Baghdad before the 1993 attack and became a citizen of Iraq might have been slightly interesting. That he fled to Iraq after attempting to murder thousands might have raised a few flags in any serious inquiry into the failures of our Government to protect us.
Atta Meeting in Prague, Ahmed Khalil Ibrahim Samir al-Ani as the Innocent
Let us for the moment put aside the nonsense that Atta did not meet with Khalil in April 2001. That fantasy has been shot down again and again by the Czech Foreign Service who have repeatedly and vehemently stood by their reports.
Instead let us just gaze admiringly at a Senate report that without a sign of irony or embarrassment gives us this bit of absurdity as evidence. Of what might be the rational question?
This is the same guy who was sent to Prague to take over Saddam’s plot to bomb Radio Free Europe. He was sent there after the original embassy official charged and funded by Saddam to hire Islamic Terrorists to car bomb Radio Free Europe fled to Britain with Saddam’s money. Hey I am just a country boy but that fact seems important enough to put into this report. This is why al-Ani was under surveillance by the Czech Foreign Service in the first place.
This report is laughable and further evidence if any were needed that our Government is not serious about correcting the huge flaws in our Intelligence agencies that encourage such absurd reports. Sometimes people say that another terror attack on a huge scale is what is required to correct those flaws. I am unsure that even the destruction of Washington would be motivation enough to correct these sorts of flawed efforts on the part of our Government. You can read of all sorts of civilizations that took this sort of thinking right into the grave with them.
