Oopsy looks like the rational state of N. Korea just became a Nuclear Power…containment working great!

Edited to remove vulgarity…blood pressure returned to normal this morning.

UPDATED: Dean Barnett has some thoughts that deserve a read.

Well gee not sure why anyone would be upset by this latest development. It’s not like North Korea would ever sell its nuclear weapons to any terrorists. Because no doubt if they did and a terrorist detonated it in Manhattan we would nuke N. Korea. Yea that’s exactly what we would do. No doubt all the terrorists and N. Korea are real impressed with our threats so far. But you say man oh man we would be a lot more serious if someone detonated a Nuke.

Nevermind that the bad guys see that 3,000 people dying wasn’t enough to get us to raise defense spending as a percentage of the GDP above even the midrange of the Peace Time Clinton Years. Indeed at this very moment after President Bush issued his clarion call to arms nearly 6 years ago our defense spending is 3.7 of GDP. For you wizards keeping track here is Clinton’s record: (1990=5.6, 1991=5.0, 1992=5.2, 1993=4.8, 1994=4.3, 1995=4.0, 1996=3.7, 1997=3.5, 1998=3.3, 1999= 3.3). Well gee at least President Bush, in the midst of a war against an enemy many believe (rightly so in my opinion) to pose an existential threat to our country, has beaten two years of Clinton Spending. Course President Bush has never approached the 5.0, 5.2, 4.8, 4.3, 4.0 of the peacetime spending of Clinton. I guess that Leave no child behind program, Prescription drug benefit and Bridge to nowhere funding were just a tad more important than equipping our armies to fight for our very lives.

And no I am not impressed with the idea that we are doing more with less. I know people in the service. I know fathers and mothers saying goodbye to their sons and daughters for the 3rd time as they saddle up to go to Iraq or Afghanistan. And yes I know they volunteered but I am not questioning the soldiers will to fight, I am questioning the fact that it seems we have so few men in uniform that one man has to do the duty of 3. I wonder in my common man’s way what will happen if we do get nuked. Exactly where are our reserves?

But yea the terrorists and rogue nations are too stupid to figure out we are stretched a bit thin. They are all sitting around in their caves trembling at our displays of willpower, those polls showing support for our wars impress them. The Bush administration isn’t the least bit hamstrung by the Republican party rolling to defeat this November. Buggering pages, dirty low down tricks to stall the fence on the Border, attempts to legalize the illegals, spending my money like it is their money, was all more important than actually spending some quality time building up our armed forces. Bitter? Moi….nah. Bastards.

But what truly sucks is the Democrats make the Republicans look good. How awful is that? It is time for an enema of our elite, all of them. We need to get rid of Professors who declare the United States to be as evil as the Nutjobs flying planes into buildings. We need to get rid of the Media Elite who believe that its A-Ok to manufacture documents to sway elections. We need to get rid of Intelligence agencies who spend more time leaking material than they do infiltrating the enemy, course maybe in their minds Bush is a bigger enemy. Which means they have gone rogue and deserve to be jailed as well as fired. We need to get rid of politicians who think its cute to bugger little boys and girls while we are at war. We need to get rid of politicians who spend more money on Pork for their benefactors then they do to save our lives, their main job. Will someone please explain how we get a whole new set of elite? A set that doesn’t believe that keeping a man awake for days is torture when it prevents him from murdering thousands. A set that doesn’t constantly barrage me with the nonsense that Islam is just like Christianity and if we just sit around the campfire and sing kumbaya everything will be alright.

Yea I bet North Korea is just trembling that we might actually do something if a nuke goes off in Manhattan. We wouldn’t be through arguing about who did it for at least 5 years. The Democrats would demand that we show our proof. The MSM would leak that even though the CIA reported the material radiating Manhattan came from N. Korea there were those unnamed sources inside of the CIA who disagreed with that assessment.

Wake me up when this nightmare is over. Or we get some elite with some cajones.

  1. Good job Papadoc. I’m extremely fed up with the current leadership and the completely inept foreign policy noobs. After the nuke went off, State Dept officials should have been fired. The six-party talks are a complete joke. Hang in there bud.

  2. Well glad to see a few people as depressed about all this shit. My wife is even more depressed than either of us…she has been saying for a while that we are all doomed.

  3. Nice post Pierre. Where do these elites come from?

These failed elites come from affluent suburbs, showered with material wealth, sheltered from real work, protected from law by the family lawyer, guaranteed admission to exclusive schools and straight into careers arranged by their family. The elites despise crude working class people and everything that they stand for. These elites have more in common with international elites than they do with the common American working man. Life is a game to these elites, a meaningless game. In their world, the family attorney is the most powerful weapon to be deployed when trouble brews. Hence their preference for discussion, delay and negotiation. Let someone else take care of the dirty details later is their mantra. They are the center of their universe and their happiness is all that matters. Everyone else is a prop in the movie that is their life.

I’ve seen these little pricks in industry, in fact, I’ve spent a lifetime cleaning up their messes as a manufacturing engineer. And if this is what colleges today are turning out, we are doomed. These self-centered prima donnas will unwittingly usher in the collapse of Western civilization.

Report: North Korea May Have Conducted Nuke Test…

Someone tell Bush to push the red button!
    Update: Not looking good:
In Seoul a foreign ministry spokesman said South Korea’s intelligence agency has detected a 3.58-magnitude seismic tremor, following North Korea’s announcement of a nuclear test…
