When a link was posted at FARK (resulted in thousands of hits) to my Saddam and Al Qaeda Connections and Collaboration page the moonbats went wild. Here is my response to them and after reading it again recently I realized it is still relevant and deserves to be included on my blog. Now more than ever we must justify our war. Never underestimate the desire of men to retreat rather than fight. Often the only way to make most men fight is to embarrass them, to expose their attempts to hide their cowardice underneath shallow rationalizations for appeasement. Corrected some spelling errors and other minor problems.

My name is Pierre Legrand and I am the author/bushiatlerbot that put together the page that has so many of you posting such interesting comments. Thanks for the interest. Let me start by stating right up front that many of you, indeed perhaps the majority, will never accept my belief that Saddam Hussein was a central figure in the war on terror.
No matter where the goals posts are placed with this group if a certain set of inconvenient facts arrive at the goal line, with a smirk, they merely move the goal posts back. The smirk covers up a fear that perhaps something medieval is happening in our so very comfortable world and by denying the facts they hope to deny the existence of that terrible reality.
That reality being that we are currently involved in a fight to the death with a group of people who are not interested in your stance on global warming or abortion or whether the Democrats throw out the Pretender in Chief, their philosophy is summed up in this pithy statement: We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you. Hussein Massawi, a former Hezbollah leader. That reality being that we are again at war with a religion that has bedeviled the West for over 1,400 years, not all of its followers but certainly the philosophy that drives it, needs to drive us from the earth.
Some of you believe that by offering them appeasement we might forestall our defeat but no one has ever successfully accomplished that in the history of Islam. This drives those sorts of people (appeasers) to find any way at all to stop our war. These folks seem to believe that a group of people who are more proud of their murderous ways that even those former most infamous butchers, Hitler, Stalin and Mao will somehow with the right olive branches put down their bloody knives and sit around the campfire singing kumbaya. What other group of people have ever spent such efforts to televise the beheading of innocents? What other group of people reveled in the deaths of 3,000 innocents, who when faced with such terror only wished that more could have died. So averting your eyes from all the evidence of a concerted effort to bring down the last Knight standing in the way of the barbarians is not merely being a pacifist but actively joining the otherside. Yes I question those folks Patriotism.
Those of you who believe I am full of crap need to explain a few things.
Why did Saddam Hussein sit our Ambassador down in Baghdad and explain to her that should we try and stop him from annexing Kuwait that: Saddam makes not so veiled threat to US Ambassador NYT If you use pressure, we will deploy pressure and force. We know that you can harm us although we do not threaten you. But we too can harm you. Everyone can cause harm according to their ability and their size. We cannot come all the way to you in the United States, but individual Arabs may reach you.
Why did Saddam attempt to assassinate Former President Bush and exactly what sort of precedence is there for another country to attempt to assassinate one of our Former Presidents? Why did Saddam host according to famed Neo Con Christopher Dickey terror conventions? Leading Link to article Dickey wrote describing Saddams Terror conventions That was in January 1993. I was there, and every time I hear diplomats and politicians, whether in Washington or the capitals of Europe, declare that Saddam Hussein is a “secular Baathist ideologue” who has nothing to do with Islamists or with terrorist calls to jihad, I think of that afternoon and I wonder what they’re talking about. If that was not a fledgling Qaeda itself at the Rashid convention, it sure was Saddam’s version of it.
Why did Saddam attempt to use Islamic radicals to blow up the Headquarters of Radio Free Europe? After all if as many of you believe he had no connections to terror that seems to be a contradiction.
In the end we are faced with the fact that over 3,000 people were brutally murdered. A military action that would have had Hitler and Tojo absolutely frothing at the mouth to accomplish. On live network TV two of our highest buildings in the center of our most powerful city were dropped. We got to watch our countrymen fling themselves out of 110 story buildings on Network tv. Our military headquarters was successfully attacked forcing a Cabinet Member to perform triage on the lawn in the center of our capital. Our capital itself would have been attacked had it not been for a group of brave citizens. All in all a day of attacks that might have had Hitler and Tojo dying of envy.
And yet I don’t think either of them would have committed such acts because you couldn’t terrify our grandfathers. We on the other hand apparently have been judged to be susceptible to terror. Many of you are the reason we suffer from attacks since you tremble and find excuses to appease those who attack us. Each time they attack you find reasons that justify such attacks. You want to find ways of giving into the terrorists such as for example abandoning Israel. Anything to be the last one the Alligator eats.
Anyway’s I stand ready to debate the points I make in my page. Also thank you to whomever it was who linked to my page. Not sure if this is allowed but to save a much longer post here is a better link to a page that is much more direct to the connections.
