In response to this post on Strata-Sphere of which this snippet is but a small part.
Democrats Seen As Wandering Aimlessly The media are trying to put lipstick on the Pig that is the Democrat agenda for the nation – and failing. A new poll shows a devastating early report card. We all know Democrats came into power with a lot of insincere promises.
I sent this email to the group. I hope this doesn’t get me thrown off but I feel strongly about worrying more about the enemy than the Democrats. AJ also wants the enemy more than he wants the Democrats but his post was a good thing bounce my current feelings off
Well that’s ok since the Republicans are wandering about aimlessly as well. Both of the parties spend more time attacking each other than they do attacking the enemy. It is just about time for another wake up from the enemy but I don’t believe the enemy is stupid enough to attack us again. I believe the enemy realizes that attacking us might just be counter productive. Instead they merely have to wait us out. If they attack us we might focus on them again instead of each other.
The enemy is neither the Democrats (ok a small minority of them qualify) or the Republicans (some of them qualify as well)…the enemy is a dedicated philosophy that wants to see the end of us, not figuratively but literally.
Hannity doesn’t get listened to anymore because in his world everything revolves around what the Democrats are doing wrong. Not what the Enemy is doing. Not what the Republicans are doing to counter it. Or what the President is doing wrong. Matter of fact not once have I heard of any mainstream Republican/Conservative pundit bemoan the ridiculously low spending of the Bush administration on Defense. And now we are paying the price as we scrap around trying to put together Armies. Our current defense spending as a % of GDP is near the lowest levels of the Hated Clinton Administration, just exactly how embarrassed is anyone about that? Not much given how little anyone has said about it.
But all of this aside…we will lose this war because we don’t have the will to win it. And will is in terrifically short supply in this country. For almost 30 years we have been standing around watching Iran kill US Soldiers and just now we are “GONNA DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT” wooo hooo…we are going to ask politely that they stop while we busy ourselves scrapping around trying to put together enough people to surge into Iraq to bring democracy into a region whose very soul runs counter to the Democratic instinct. All the while praying that Iran doesn’t call our bluff and surge into Iraq with a NoDong Delivered Nuclear weapon, that every President since Reagan has stood around watching happen. Some of you will claim boldly that oh no buddy if they do that then we will kick their asses…oh yea bud then the can of whoop ass will really come on out. Yea sure I guess 3,000 of our citizens dying on Worldwide TV wasn’t quite enough to bring that can out. Wake me up when this nightmare is over.
Will wins wars, not weapons….I guess it doesn’t matter how much we spend on weapons if we don’t have the will to win. And its all some parties or the others fault…oh my god. It is the fault of that person staring back at you in the mirror in the morning we let this happen, not some political party.
Sorry for the rant. And far from wanting to murder everyone in the ME I want to avoid the inevitable horrific nightmare that will occur should we ever get hit hard enough that millions of us die. At that time the harsh measures I call for will seem positively benign.
Yea I guess I am losing it.
