Hat tip Instapundit. Here is Joe Lieberman former running mate to Whacked Out Al Gore saying things that no Republicans seem able to say. Well ok McCain did say it but then again is he a Republican?
CBS) The United States should launch military strikes against Iran if the government in Tehran does not stop supplying anti-American forces in Iraq, Sen. Joe Lieberman said Sunday on Face The Nation. “I think we’ve got to be prepared to take aggressive military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans in Iraq,” Lieberman told Bob Schieffer. “And to me, that would include a strike into… over the border into Iran, where we have good evidence that they have a base at which they are training these people coming back into Iraq to kill our soldiers.”
Seriously though consider how long people have been trying to claim that states no longer sponsor terrorism. Then consider how long Iran has been actually sponsoring terror. Then remember that until 9/11 Iran was responsible through it’s proxies for two of the most egregious terror attacks against this country. The Marine Barracks bombing of 1981 was carried out by Hezb’Allah a barely undercover proxie for Iran. And naturally the Embassy takeover was also run by Iran using “students” and terrorists.
Perhaps thats why so many folks want to avoid confronting the fact that Iran is a Terrorist state using terrorists to further its own aims. Lieberman thank goodness is not one of those folks.
