Iranian forces crossed Iraqi border…British forces wondering where mummy is

There was a time where the British would walk into the very maws of death to fight an enemy. Now when the enemy crosses the border they are “puzzled” and “alarmed” and badly on the “back-foot”…will someone please have some Australian troops sent in to lend some backbone?

From Breitbart.com comes this tale of woe regarding our favorite washed up army…the British.

Source: Iranian forces crossed Iraqi border: report

Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces have been spotted by British troops crossing the border into southern Iraq, The Sun tabloid reported on Tuesday.

Did the British fire upon them? Why not? Do they suppose that the Iranians are sightseeing?

Britain’s defence ministry would not confirm or deny the report, with a spokesman declining to comment on “intelligence matters”.

Yea intelligence matters…like we don’t want to make ourselves look as cowardly as those British sailors since we have even less excuse.

An unidentified intelligence source told the tabloid: “It is an extremely alarming development and raises the stakes considerably. In effect, it means we are in a full on war with Iran — but nobody has officially declared it.”

No shit…ya think? Tell me exactly what did the west think the Iranians were doing when the blew up 241 Marines in 1983 sending a signal or making war?

“We have hard proof that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps have crossed the border to attack us. It is very hard for us to strike back. All we can do is try to defend ourselves. We are badly on the back foot.”

Mindboggling…are these soldiers from what used to be one of the worlds most illustrious armies? Is this the same army whose soldiers faced down the Zulu warriors at Rorks Drift?

The Sun said that radar sightings of Iranian helicopters crossing into the Iraqi desert were confirmed to it by very senior military sources.

Holy smokes, the balls of the Iranians. They aren’t just sending over some patrols they are sending aircover as well. They must realize what is evident even back home. We are led by idiots and cowards.

In response to the report, a British defence ministry spokesman said: “There is evidence that explosive devices used against our troops in southern Iraq originated in Iran.”

Yea there was “evidence” of that 2 goddamn years ago if you aren’t counting the explosion that killed 241 Marines. Then again I guess we have to define evidence again…as if Laurie Mylroie didn’t do a magnificent job so many years ago now.

“Any Iranian link to armed militias in Iraq either through weapons supply, training or funding are unacceptable.”

Oh blow it out your ass…talk talk talk. Just like our President who uttered foolish bluffs in 2001:

We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest.  And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.  Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  (Applause.)  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime…BAH BULLSHIT!

Perhaps being the poker player he is reputed to be President Bush believed that his bet wouldn’t be called. Well it appears that the whole world understands that he has a lot of bluff about him. And it appears that Iran may be calling his bluff.

Good to know he is deeply involved in getting the most unpopular piece of legislation in recent history passed…what do you think I am talking about ? Increasing defense spending? Bah…he is peachy keen at keeping it at historically low levels of 3.6% GDP, near the very lowest it was during Clinton’s reign of terror as President whose valid excuse was he wasn’t at war, what pray tell is Bush’s excuse? Perhaps he thinks as Tony Snow outlined some time ago that it isn’t OUR WAR?

Bush has never even approached the middle levels of spending during Clinton’s years. No right now with Iran attacking and the rest of the Islamic world circling our rapidly dying carcass, the most important thing on Bush’s mind is passing the No Illegal Left Behind Bill…which is if you can believe it even more asinine than the No Child Left Behind Bill..another boondoggle in which he collaborated with “Drown Her in the Morning” Kennedy.

Britain has about 7,100 soldiers in Iraq, most of whom are based in the southern city of Basra and surrounding areas, though the government has pledged to reduce that to between 5,000 and 5,500 this year

The British people have been making decisions as if the end of history was upon them and their military no longer needed to be tough and hardened and ready for a fight. This is the result…welcome to the end of British History. But before we get too smug in the States, we have groups of politicians that are struggling to achieve the same thing here in America, they are called Democrats. And its disheartening to know how defenseless the craven Republicans are in their path after all when you expend more effort to insure that your lawns are mowed for cheap than to insure that your military is strong and your political class has the will to defend us then… Beware America…“No man is an Iland, intire of itselfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Manor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee.”

  1. Pierre,

If you want to see how else the War on Terror is being being undermined, please take a look at this blog post. It’s about an enormous UN scandal that isn’t making the news either here or in Europe. Instead, the networks are focusing about one murder case in Ohio, and Paris Hilton getting out of the cooler..yawn…

    Here it is:

The article has a few links. I wasn’t able to find out anything more at this time, but I’ll keep looking.

    Thanks,
