Being Fair and Balanced AFP Style…

Came across this bit of news trash and was struck by how prejudiced it was, you will be too.

Hezbollah’s capture of two Israeli soldiers in July 2006 led to a 34-day war with the Jewish state that left more than 1,200 civilians dead in Lebanon, a third of them children, as well as 160 Israelis, mostly soldiers.

Notice in that first bit that all of the casualties in Lebanon were civilians. Because the cowards that call themselves the Hezbollah wear civilian clothes and so presto they count as civilians. Furthermore they buy into the made for TV casualty figures most likely provided to them by the Hezbollah themselves. Then we hear about the children. No mention is made that the cowards that call themselves the Hezbollah choose to hide behind woman and children’s skirts to avoid fighting the Israelis. The cowardly Hezbollah set up their anti aircraft where the people live and if the people protest they kill their children. Then those children become casualties of the war, killed by the Israelis.

The Jewish state failed in both its stated aims for launching the war: to stop rocket fire on northern Israel and to recover the two soldiers.

Then this gem. The Jewish State….hmmm, no mention of the religion of the Hezbollah. The Israelis are Jewish but the Hezbollah are….secularists??? Or could they be Mulims. Nah that would be uncouth to mention.

Hezbollah has ‘heads’ of Israeli soldiers: Hezbollah chief

We are winning battles and losing the war. Iraq is a battle. Afghanistan is a battle….terrorism is a tactic. The war is against what, terror, the war on terror? Anyone actually believe that nonsense anymore? And if we cannot name it then how do we defeat it?
