He made some mistakes…oops just killed 60 million folks. Great Leap Forward and Cultural Revolution killed more people faster than any other government in history, well at least they did something right.

But back to the King Memorial and the NY Sun’s article. The issue is a memorial in Washington DC to Martin Luther King has been outsourced to China. Naturally creativity being what it is in China, they killed all the creative people in the various purges, they produced a statue that looks remarkably like MAO after all he isn’t as bad as people think.
“I was confused as to why they chose this particular artist from another country and another culture,” a Georgia artist working to rescind the decision, Gilbert Young, said. “My position is, they don’t have the sensitivity, the nuances to complete this statue the way it should be completed. This artist is a member of the Communist Party.”
I am surprised anyone is surprised or confused by what Washington DC does. After all the memorial to some of the victims of the most terrible terrorist attack in history was styled to honor the religion which is the main motivator for the attackers.
Such is the corruption of Washington DC and our political and cultural elite. Are the people of the United States so out of touch with their “representatives” that they are surprised by the corruption?
Mr. Young said it would have been preferable for the memorial to be made by a black American, but that if an American of another race had been selected, there “would be no controversy.”
Uh Oh…what’s so special about being “American”? The Cultural Elite of Washington certainly don’t want to hear about their being anything unique about being American. Good thing it was a black man who declared such a blasphemy. After all according to them there is nothing unique about being American. Well nothing worth saving.
