Some complaints from the Corner about Palin defending Rand Paul. My question is what tactic will work given the fact that the Press isn’t merely mistaken but on the other side?
There are no arguments that will win them over. If we could be privy to the private meetings of the New York Times, MSNBC, etc. etc I bet we would hear that their goal was “we win, they lose” (Left wins the right loses). The left has no desire to meet us halfway, they have no desire to compromise because they understand they have reached a tipping point and any compromises will negatively affect their gains. We did not realize this, long ago, when those of us who love freedom thought that the way to govern was to compromise with the enemy. Some of us have not learned that there can be no compromises with some political enemies and the left is one of those. The press are even more hardcore than any politician in regards to loving socialism.
Perhaps a full on attack all the time is the only way to deal with the Press…I don’t know and I suspect that Ramesh won’t ever know since he wears that Eeyore costume so well.
Palin on Rand Paul [Ramesh Ponnuru]
Pete Wehner: "Understandably scarred by the 2008 campaign, [Palin] is on a quest to clear her name by pounding the media at every turn. They are always to blame — even when, as in the case of Rand Paul, they are not actually to blame." The Corner – National Review Online
Re: Palin on Rand Paul [Ramesh Ponnuru]
Loyalty is no excuse for making false claims. Those of us who believe that the media often treats conservative points of view unfairly should be especially annoyed when that legitimate argument is used to cover for Republican mistakes and thus discredited.
