The Times Interviews John McCain…not a single question about the Border or Illegal Aliens.

Pierre Legrand’s Pink Flamingo Bar

The Drive-By media is studiously avoiding talking about illegal immigration even though for many inside of the Republican party it is one of the prime reasons that the base is so upset with the establishment GOP. The American people have struck down the last few attempts to run amnesty past us. When it mattered, in the face of overwhelming majorities of Senators in favor of it and a President aching to give amnesty to 20 million illegals, the people have spoken and refused such amnesty. You might think that would be worth talking about with one of the architects of said amnesty.

Following are excerpts of a transcript of an interview conducted by The New York Times’s Adam Nagourney and Michael Cooper with Senator John McCain in Hudson, Wisconsin, on July 11. The answers are transcribed verbatim; some of the questions are paraphrased. The other people Mr. McCain refers to, who were in the room, are his wife, Cindy; Mark Salter, a senior adviser; Brook Buchanan, his press secretary; and John Taylor, an economic adviser. Robert Samuelson wrote about this interesting phenomenon the other day at Real Clear Politics. Campaign 2008: The Sounds of Silence.

It is one of our fondest political myths that elections allow us collectively to settle the “big issues.” The truth is that there’s often a bipartisan consensus to avoid the big issues, because they involve unpopular choices and conflicts. Elections become exercises in mass evasion; that certainly applies so far to the 2008 campaign. A case in point is America’s population transformation. Few issues matter more for the country’s future — and yet, it’s mostly ignored.

Two changes dominate — aging and immigration — and they intersect. In 2005, 12 percent of the population was over 65; by 2050, that will be almost 20 percent. Meanwhile, immigration is driving population growth. By 2050, the population may exceed 430 million, up from about 300 million now. About four-fifths of the increase will reflect immigrants and their children and grandchildren, estimates the Pew Hispanic Center. The potential for conflict is obvious. Older retirees and younger and poorer immigrants — heavily Hispanic — will compete for government social services and benefits. Squeezed in between will be middle-class and middle-aged workers, facing higher taxes.

What do John McCain and Barack Obama say about these looming problems? Well, not much. Of course, they’re against poverty and fiscal irresponsibility. They oppose illegal immigration and favor “reform.” But beyond these platitudes, they’re mostly mute. It’s not that the problems are secret. Dozens of reports have warned of population aging, which affects most wealthy societies. Global aging is “a demographic shift with no parallel in the history of humanity,” argue Richard Jackson and Neil Howe in their recent “The Graying of the Great Powers.

Mr Samuelson hit a lot of good points but missed the most obvious point. Sure it is possible that the Parties can decide to NOT talk about certain issues. But the press is not supposed to be under the same constraints. So we can applaud Mr. Samuelson for being part of the Drive-By that is talking about it we should also wish that his colleagues would start asking some tough questions.

The Sounds of Silence…how Illegal Immigration is, the Elephant in the Room!

In an otherwise fantastic article about immigration Robert Samuelson stumbles at the finish line.

Grasping this, our leading politicians engage in a consensual censorship to skip issues that involve distasteful choices or that require deferred gratification. They prefer to assign blame and promise benefits. So elections come and go, there are winners and losers — and our problems fester. RealClearPolitics - Articles - Campaign 2008: The Sounds of Silence

There is a group of folks who are supposed to prevent this sort of collusion. Rush calls them the Drive By Media for a reason though. Reporters covering both candidates should be hammering them on this crucial issue. Smoke them out and make them take stands. Instead we have a bunch of folks who by and large seem to be rooting for whomever they might be covering and because of this they almost have a stake in “their” candidate winning.

Sickening as it may be, it is an indication of just how shallow we have become as a people. We are getting both the press and the politicians we deserve…

NRO Corner in the Tank for Obama…well how else do you explain the fawning nonsense going on over Obama? A Black Marxist who attended a racist church led by racist preachers?

The NRO Corner lost it’s way a long time ago. When the Corner united against Coulter’s remarks after 9/11 one had to worry that in the Corner we didn’t have actual conservatives but folks who make money playing one.

But I don’t understand the pile on at The Corner.

McCain gave a serious talk that centered on the war, and especially on the point that if Obama had been in charge, we’d have lost by now and incredible chaos and perhaps genocide would be unfolding in that country. McCain also noted what he should refer to in every speech from now until November: Obama wants to sit down with dictators who would eat his lunch.Townhall.com::Blog

GREAT NEWS! Bardot convicted of Racial Hatred by the French…Poor little Hajji’s want to be able to act like tribes inside of France.

Typical, it takes a French woman to stand up to the Islamic tribes overrunning France.

PARIS —  Brigitte Bardot was convicted Tuesday of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.

A Paris court also handed down a $23,325 fine against the former screen siren and animal rights campaigner. The court also ordered Bardot to pay $1,555 in damages to MRAP.

Bardot’s lawyer, Francois-Xavier Kelidjian, said he would talk to her about the possibility of an appeal. FOXNews.com - Brigitte Bardot Convicted of Provoking Discrimination - Celebrity Gossip | Entertainment News | Arts And Entertainment

What a great idea it was to import North Africa into France!  Hey maybe we can think of something along those lines…like say import the entire poor population from a certain absolutely corrupt country to the south of us. Hey more GREAT NEWS! Republicans have already started doing that! WOW!

Make possible for immigrants to do a job Americans won’t do

Things are terrible, and we’ve got to fix it. But we’re not going to fix it until we have comprehensive immigration reform. When there’s a demand, there’s going to be a supply. There are jobs that Americans will not do, so we have to make it possible for someone to come to this country to do a job that an American won’t do and then go back to the country from where they came.

Boy cannot wait till McCain gets into office. Yea I am voting for the bastard…he is a less bad bastard than the other bastard. What a choice to have in the greatest country in the world. We either get a loony old man who is perhaps dumber than Bush or a Black Marxist who hates white folks. GREAT NEWS!

Lordy Lordy…Where have all the Republicans like Dole gone?

All of this stems from the lack of balls among the Republicans. The big watch word has been working with the otherside of the aisle as if the otherside of the aisle is interested in anything other than winning. Actually if the policies of the Democrats were not such a awful disaster I would admire their tenacity and singleminded focus on winning.

Merry Old England…Soon to be a much less merry Islamic Nation armed with Nuclear Weapons. GREAT NEWS!

Al Qaeda was ejected from Afghanistan because we didn’t want them to have a base and safe haven from which to attack us. Then we went to war with Iraq because of the possibility that he might give his WMD’s to the terrorists he was supporting. Given the demographic nightmare (see Mark Steyn’s America Alone The End of the World as We Know It!) occurring in England when do we go to war with them? You laughing? Think I am loony? Check this article from the Church Of England. (editors note: for some bizarre reason the Church of England’s Newspaper gives each article published the same url so you cannot follow the link. Sorry but am glad that I have the entire article”)

Religious trends and our religious future

If recent reports of trends in religious observance prove to be correct, then in some 30 years the mosque will be able to claim that, religiously speaking, the UK is an Islamic nation, and therefore needs a share in any religious establishment to reflect this. The progress of conservative Islam in the UK has been amazing, and it has come at a time of prolonged decline in church attendance that seems likely to continue.

Guess some of the folks preaching the religion of multiculturalism are smiling about my worry of an Islamic Nation with Nuclear Submarines and Nuclear Missiles and Nuclear Weapons in general.  After all what is so bad about an Islamic Nation having nuclear weapons. Pakistan has them.

This progress has been enthusiastically assisted by this government in particular with its hard-line multi-cultural dogma and willingness to concede to virtually every demand made by Muslims. Perhaps most importantly the government has chosen to allow hard-liners to act as representing all Muslims, and more liberal Muslims have almost completely failed to produce any leadership voices to compete, leading many Britons to wonder if there are indeed many liberal Muslims at all, surely a mistake.

Wait just a moment! Didn’t “famous” American blogger’s like Dean Esmay and Bill from INDC claim that Islam was moderate? Didn’t Bush claim that we only had to allow them the vote and liberal democratic Republics would be standing up all over the Middle East.

At all levels of national life Islam has gained state funding, protection from any criticism, and the insertion of advisors and experts in government departs national and local. A Muslim Home Office adviser, for example, was responsible for Baroness Scotland’s aborting of the legislation against honour killings, arguing that informal methods would be better. In the police we hear of girls under police protection having the addresses of their safe houses disclosed to their parents by Muslim officers who think they are doing their religious duty.

Honor killings…sounds so noble. Such a noble religion for killing young women. Such a moderate religion…such a moderate philosophy.

While men-only gentlemen’s clubs are now being dubbed unlawful, we hear of municipal swimming baths encouraging ‘Muslim women only’ sessions and in Dewsbury Hospitals staff waste time by turning beds to face Mecca five times a day — a Monty Pythonesque scenario of lunacy, but astonishingly true. Prisons are replete with imams who are keen to inculcate conservative Islam in any inmates who are deemed to be culturally ‘Muslim’: the Prison service in effect treats such prisoners as a cultural block to be preached to by imams at will. Would the Prison service send all those with ‘C of E’ on their papers to confirmation classes with the chaplain?! We could go on.

So then when do we attack?

The point is that Islam is being institutionalised, incarnated, into national structures amazingly fast, at the same time as demography is showing very high birthrates. Charles Taylor’s new and classic work on the Secular Age charts the rise of the secular mindset and what he calls the ‘excarnation’ of Christianity as it is levered out of state policy and structures. Christianity is now regarded as bad news, the liberal elite’s attack developed in the 1960s took root in the educationalist empire, and to some extent even in areas of the church.

Aren’t liberals fun?

Today the Christian story is fading from public imagination, while Islam grows apace. There needs to be some fresh thinking in this area where the claims of Christ are sensitively explained. Our church leaders must develop ways of explaining this, as our feature on mission and evangelism this week demonstrates. Church of England News - Editorial

Well gee a radical Islamic nation with Nuclear Weapons and the means to deliver them. What could go wrong?

Evolution of a Republican Politician

Satirist Iowahawk captures the evolution of a Republican Politicians as only he can!

Return to Sender

Dear 3rd District Voter:

Are you sick and tired of Bill Clinton and his tax-and-spend insider Democrat friends in Congress? Then please cast your vote me, Jerry Bristol, in the upcoming 1994 election for the 3rd District seat in the United States House of Representatives. iowahawk: Return to Sender

What makes this even more hilarious is even now Republicans don’t get it. We still have that clown McCain talking about legalizing the illegals. I take special glee in tossing out campaign donation forms from the Republicans, Bush and McCain. I will donate to Jindal but only because he is actually a Conservative.

This line stands out because Republicans are actually trying this…vote for McCain because he is better than that Radical Nutjob Obama. Whats worse is they are right. As awful as McCain is he is worlds better than Obama. Oh mama how did we get here!

For example, the latest 2006 Townsburgh Gazette Poll indicates that many of you are dissatisfied with the war in Iraq.   As a longtime voice of opposition to the Bush administration on the war, especially the parts that aren’t going well, I have organized a special select committee to investigate and fix blame, and set a timetable for withdrawal tied to tracking poll benchmarks.

That’s the kind of leadership you will continue to get with me, Jerry Bristol. Like you’re really going to vote for that Kos lunatic the Democrats nominated.

Sincerely,
Congressman Jerry Bristol

Wow! Instalaunch! Cool…Please have a look around.

Now this is interesting…Both of these items are from the same AP Article posted on two different sites. Both articles are titled:

Senate loads war funding bill with domestic programs

See if you can spot which article has not been altered…

Is this common practice? Boy this sure seems dishonest….notice all the information missing? Fox News was not the only one that saw fit to exclude the information. WSJ and others had no problem omitting the death of the latest attempt by the Senate to end run around their voters clear wish to stop illegal immigration.

I guess I won’t suppose that Fox News, WSJ and others omitted this news because they are pro-illegal immigration. Or should I?

Anyways I came upon this after clicking a line at Michelle’s site and noticing that her snippet did not match the snippet posted on the International Herald Tribune’s site. Cannot imagine that the snippet from the IHT site posted on Michelle’s site sprung from her imagination so they must have changed the article after she posted.

Great! News that is now you see it now you don’t!

Breitbart Article Exhibit A Fox News Article Exhibit B
Now that it’s clear that Democrats won’t insist on a troop withdrawal timeline, the White House is focusing on making sure the measure doesn’t exceed his request.

The Senate war funding bill combines $194.1 billion in spending over for war funding, foreign aid, military base construction, heating subsidies and a variety of smaller items. Then there’s $14.5 billion to give 13 weeks of unemployment checks to people whose benefits have run out and $51.6 billion over 10 years to improve GI Bill benefits.

There’s $108 billion remaining from Bush’s war funding request for the 2008 budget year ending Sept. 30. But the White House appears willing to lump that request together with $70 billion to carry the war into next spring, as well as Bush’s $5.8 billion request to construct levees in Louisiana.

That puts Bush’s request at $183.8 billion—more than $10 billion below the Senate measure.

The immigrant farm labor provision added to the measure at a hearing last week by Sens Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., and Larry Craig, R- Idaho, would allow almost 1.4 million immigrant farm workers to stay in the United States for up to five years to ease a shortage of farm workers that has left some crops rotting in the fields.

Sens. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., and Judd Gregg, R-N.H., followed that up with a provision to extend an expired program to allow seasonal workers to return to the country using H-2B visas.

Gregg, typically a fiscal conservative, voted with Democrats at last week’s hearing to adopt $1 billion worth of additional energy subsidies for the poor. That provision led top Appropriations panel Republican Thad Cochran of Mississippi—himself the driving force behind $1 billion for coastal restoration in Mississippi—to warn his colleagues that they were simply guaranteeing a Bush veto.

Still, Republicans such as Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas—a member of the Senate GOP leadership team—pressed ahead with add-ons of their own. Hutchison won approval of $100 million in grants to local law enforcement to fight drug trafficking along the U.S.-Mexico border.

It’s the type of situation White House budget director Jim Nussle had in mind last month when he chided senators for a “sky-is-the-limit mind-set” regarding “the desire of some in Congress to load up this troop funding bill with tens of billions in additional spending.”

Republican Sen. Kit Bond of Missouri moved to keep open three “veterans business resource centers” with $600,000 in taxpayer funds. One of the centers, naturally, is in St. Louis; the others were in Flint, Mich., and Boston.

Ted Kennedy Promised This Wouldn’t Happen…Guess He Lied.

In an article in the Los Angeles Times by Gregory Rodriguez, that wasn’t all together ridiculous, this point was made.

But that doesn’t make it right. No matter who wins the presidency, there is one thing we ought to learn from this campaign. In our rapidly diversifying nation, where we are all becoming minorities, the idea that any given group has an inalienable claim on a particular political seat, appointment or office based on demographics has officially outlived its usefulness. The fear of white decline - Los Angeles Times

Here is what Teddy, yes the same Teddy who is lying in a hospital facing his maker, well here is what he said back in 1965 then what he said in 1986 then what he said in 2007. At least he is a consistent liar.

1965: “The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”

1986: “This amnesty will give citizenship to only 1.1 to 1.3 million illegal aliens. We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”

2007: “Now it is time for action. 2007 is the year we must fix our broken system.

So now we find whites in America nearly a minority, after being nearly 90% of the population when that bastard spewed those lies. Yea, Teddy was good for this country. That bastard hated this country and spent his life trying to destroy it. And truth is he probably did.

So who is going to replace the whites in America as the leaders? Well the very same folks who made such a hash of their own countries that they ran away and came here. Mexico was at last check number 5 on the All World Murdering Capital. In other cheery news, in Mexico rape is not really considered to be a crime. And it is REALLY better to rape children because the law in Mexico, such as it is, protects them even less. Well ok you might serve a day in jail, till you sober up. But pretty much it is considered a-ok to rape. And Gangs? Hell Mexico is Gangs-R-Us of this hemisphere. Yea sure lets import a bunch of these folks.

Just think in a few more years we can expect Los Angeles to look like this…

'Mara 18' gang members EPA/Gustavo Amador

Oops wrong set of slides…this is what Southern California already looks like. Wow…well in a few more years it will look like this.

That diversity thingy is working out well for Southern California. Iraq, Somalia, Vietnam the list goes on of countries where we have expended much treasure and blood trying to make them something they are not. Perhaps liberal democratic republics cannot be given to folks. If that is the case then maybe it is not such a great idea to be importing in the United States millions of folks who have no idea what we mean when we say law abiding. Law abiding people, people smart enough to understand that mutual respect of the law is the only thing that keeps us away from the visions of disaster that are such a part of those countries south of our border.

What was that bastard Kennedy thinking of when he uttered those lies in 1965?

Illegal Immigration around the world in 60 seconds!

Hmm…looks like that illegal immigration thing might be an election winner. First Switzerland then the NPD in Germany making a strong showing, now Italy…hmm a trend? And obviously with the rise of the NPD not always a great trend but when you spit on the locals by importing new voters they can always return the favor and get new politicians.

Some party hack decreed that the people
had lost the government’s confidence
and could only regain it with redoubled effort.
If that is the case, would it not be be simpler,
If the government simply dissolved the people
And elected another? Bertolt Brecht.

Hat tip to Brussels Journal the most stalwart blog in defense of Europe.

This week’s operation appeared to signal the new conservative government’s intention to keep its election promise to crack down on illegal immigrants. Many Italians hold them responsible for numerous crimes. Berlusconi’s People of Freedom coalition includes the anti-immigrant Northern League party. AKI - Adnkronos international Spain: Italy accused of ‘racist’ measures against immigrants

Consider this from Bloomberg news:

Berlusconi was helped to a bigger-than-expected victory thanks to his ally, the anti-immigration Northern League, which posted its best result since 1996 with a projected 8.7 percent of the upper-house vote and 22 senators. That will give the Northern League a big say in molding the new government’s agenda. It advocates devolving central-government powers over schools, police and taxes to local authorities and greater controls against illegal immigrants.

Shows us the path here in the States to stopping illegal immigration. We need new politicians. Because as soon as these parties got into power they started shaking the tree.

Italy’s new conservative interior minister Roberto Maroni said on Friday the country needs “firm measures” to tackle the “security emergency” caused by illegal immigration.

“The country demands immediate and effective answers form all political forces, working together to resolve the problems afflicting our communities,” said Maroni (photo), who belongs to the anti-immigrant Northern League party.

“Firm measures” are needed to renew police trust and prevent people taking matters into their own hands, Maroni said. He pledged to bolster the resources available for Italy’s police and security services.

Renew the peoples trust in the police…hmm. Prevent People from taking matters into their own hands. Lots of wisdom in those words. After all humans agreed to police forces a long time ago because they promised to keep the order. If they fail to keep order the reason for them fades and people will believe they need to take matters into their own hands. Not a good scenario as you might well imagine.

Earlier this week, people in a low-income suburb of the southern city of Naples set fire to a Roma Gypsy camp, forcing them to flee, after a report that a teenage Roma girl allegedly tried to kidnap an Italian baby.

“It is time to intervene with force to prevent anger taking over… and to avoid episodes of the unjustifiable violence that we saw in Naples,” Maroni stated.

Naturally there will be some who scream the same tired epitaphs at those who try and fix the problems of the clash of cultures. Problems caused in large part by the same sorts of people who scream those epitaphs the loudest.

Spain’s vice-president Maria Teresa Fernandez de la Vega has accused the Italian government of racism and xenophobia.

“The [Spanish] government rejects violence, racism and xenophobia, thus it does not agree with what is happening in Italy,” said Fernandez de la Vega at a media conference on Friday.

“Immigration is a necessary phenomenon, which is positive as long as it is orderly and legal,” said Fernandez de la Vega.
“The government does not share the deportations without respect for laws and rights.”

This statement while not a response to the Spanish Vice President certainly could be!

“For some time Italy has been the gateway of the Mediterranean, but this door now needs to be slammed shut because we have a duty to defend our citizens and guarantee their safety” affirmed Italy’s Minister for Community Policies, Andrea Ronchi, in an interview given to daily ‘Il Corriere della Sera’. “We - he went on - shall punish illegal immigrants, irregular stays by foreigners who commit crimes on our territory. And this is our full right as a nation, because there is not any contravention of international law. We don’t want to erect barriers, but our objective is that a culture of law and order comes to be shared across Europe”.

If only that realization hit our politicians it would be revolutionary! Imagine that, not allowing illegal immigration because of the crime it introduces into the center of our civilization!

Of course there is a point of no return. A point where if we don’t control illegals quickly enough they control the government. Witness California where Proposition 187, a state wide initiative to control illegal immigration, passed with over 58% of the vote in state wide elections.

California Proposition 187 was a 1994 ballot initiative designed to deny illegal immigrants social services, health care, and public education. It was introduced by assemblyman Dick Mountjoy (Republican from Monrovia, California) as the Save Our State initiative. A number of other organizations were involved in bringing it to the voters. It passed with 58.8% of the vote,[1] but was overturned by a federal court. The measure prompted support for similar bills in Illinois, Florida, New York and Texas.[1]

But the measure was challenged in court and ultimately defeated by Grey Davis who simply stopped the appeal process allowing the measure to die. Thus even when the people spoke in overwhelming terms their desires were ignored. Makes one wonder exactly what does it take for us to  win?

Where is our Berlusconi? Where are the politicians who will stand up and stop the transformation of the United States into a third world country? We must understand that we will be called the most vicious names in out fight to preserve our culture. It is worth the price.
