Stock Market Manipulation? Gee That Wouldn’t Be A Very Good Thing…Kinda Funny How The Market Went Down Right When Obama Needed It and Went Up When He Needed! Maybe He Really Is GOD! Obama Is God! Nah…

Stock Market manipulation? Fantasy? Tin Foil territory? Maybe…but if someone asked you 3 years ago to believe that Bear Stearns, GM, Lehman Brothers, and other so-called paragons of US Corporate might would be gone in 2009 would you have thought it was tin foil ranting?

Take a look at this article over at Atlantic…The Quiet Coup written by an IMF Economist. Don’t much like his solutions but his diagnosis sounds spot on. Now after you have done that take a look at this terrific article at Zero Hedge.

Zero Hedge Exclusive: Is State Street Trading For Federal Accounts?

Posted by Tyler Durden at 9:54 AM

Zero Hedge has always been fascinated by the behemoths of securities lending (or not so much lately) State Street and Bank Of New York: these firms, which allegedly had just marginal toxic exposure, were in the front lines for the TARP bailout and have traditionally been handled with velvet gloves by the administration. In fact, many would say the custodian firms are in a league of importance much higher than even Goldman or JP Morgan as with their repo activity, security lending and cash collateral reinvestment, they are the de facto center of the shadow banking system.
A Cliff notes version of the stock lenders’ Modus Operandi, sent in compliments of a reader:

  • In the securities lending arb, stocks and bonds are lent out by custodians and investment managers. The loan is collateralized by the borrower with cash, the lender promises the borrower a return on that cash and then invests the cash in repo and short-term debt at a spread to that promised rate of return. The sec lending market is in the trillions. This market is basically rolling overnight repo right now as it tries to dig itself out of the MTM/liquidity hole.
  • Many of the Fed/Treasury balance sheet efforts have been basically attempts to supplant securities lenders. Sec lending funds were the biggest buyers of 1-3yr FRNs (hence, TLGP). Lenders were also the biggest buyers of AAA cards and autos (read TALF 1.0). They were the second-biggest buyers of ABCP after 2a7 funds (ergo AMLF). Indirectly they were the largest funder of LT2 bank debt (via SIVs MTNs). They’re large repo counerparties, and did everything from short-dated CDS to liquidity put options on Canadian levered super-senior CDOs.
  • Many stock lending funds, which have similar accrual accounting regimes to ‘40 Act money-market funds, have broken the buck but are still trading at $1. for example see the section beginning "We may be exposed to customer claims" on p.11. What does this mean? Not only are certain securities lending providers opening themselves up to significant litigation risk but, importantly, clients in stocks can’t reallocate to bonds (or vice-versa), since the sec lending funds aren’t letting them out (except in-kind). Finally, of course, as long as sec lenders remain hurt but unsupplanted, they stay short duration, which extracts hundreds of billions of $$ in term financing capacity out of the market. Fed won’t act as a lender of last resort since they’re still smarting from the AIG sec lending bail-out they didn’t see coming. Black Law Student Association Launches a Witch Hunt Against One Professor That Reflects Badly Upon Everyone in Universities! Luckily Professor Fights Back and Wins!

Inside Higher Education has a great article regarding a Professor who sued his students and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock after being falsely accused of racism. Sounds just like the sort of crazy nonsense that is wrong with Universities these days. Also sounds like the sort of battles that Republicans better get ready to fight considering Obama’s methods, and his allies quick use of racism charges to silence dissent.

Another accusation against him was that — in the same time frame when he had criticized affirmative action — he was insensitive in passing out “a basic grammar worksheet” to the class and telling students to focus more on their writing. There was no accusation that he focused on the black students, only that he raised this issue shortly after he has been critical of affirmative action. On this charge, Peltz noted that faculty members had been urged by the state Bar to focus more on writing issues because some law students were in danger of failing the Bar exam due to poor writing skills. While defending his intent, Peltz pledged in his new memo to never again offer the writing tips “lest I again be maligned for trying to improve student writing.” What You Can’t Win in Court :: Inside Higher Ed :: Higher Education’s Source for News, Views and Jobs

Read the comments and be shocked to learn just how grades are awarded in the new age.

Affirmative action is racism.

Amazing he that wasn’t fired or perhaps he is tenured. Reverse racism, or affirmative action simply is racism and creates hatred, not fairness. I was fired by the Chairman because I refused to pass a black student who did not attend class or do any work; the Chair wanted him passed for racial quota purposes, so the Chair changed my grade of F to passing, thereby discriminating against all the other students. I didn’t care what race, ethnicity, age, sex, or attitude a student had, only that they were able to learn the material no matter what I had to do to help them to pass standard tests pursuant to obtaining a professional license. What the Chair did was wrong, to the students and to the profession.

As for your own perception, what race do you think I am? Do you assume that I am white?

You’re likely wrong; I am Native American.

Dan, Dr. at Ball State University,

Well I am feeling all warm and fuzzy knowing that grades are just handed out to meet quotas. What we are seeing here is the destruction of nearly 2500 years of experience regarding basic ideas, truth matters, honor matters, actually knowing the material matters. You know having idiot lawyers may not be such a dangerous thing, hell it might be a plus since having idiots abounding in law might move the worship of them down a notch or two, but imagine that same grading method being used with a heart surgeon. Gosh, do you feel a thrill going up your leg! Speaking of thrills running up my leg…

Now we have a Black President who uses the same sort of tactics, hurling racism charges at those who stand in his way, well my gosh it just doesn’t get any better than that eh? Exactly how would the University view a group of students calling themselves the White Law Students Association? Would the University allow them to ruin careers of women studies professors? Dissent in the United States just moved into the hate speech category. If it is wrong to have a White Law Students Law Association why is it right to have a black one? Would Reverend King think all this color running around as victims a good thing?

The question is can any Republican overcome their fear of being branded a racist to fight back? Perhaps we can take a cue from the Queen of Denmark.

The Queen of Denmark said it best “A counterbalance has to be found, and one has to, at times, run the risk of having unflattering labels placed on you. For there are some things for which one should display no tolerance. And when we are tolerant, we must know whether it is because of convenience or conviction.”

She was defending her right to stand up to Islam’s attempt to overwhelm Europe. We might take a cue from her as those would debase our civilization by eliminating standards try to destroy our nation in order to steal success. Hint success is not given, nor taken, it is earned. Discuss amongst yourselves.

Obama…Muslim or Apostate or Not? Minority Report, RedState and Instapundit know something that Danial Pipes doesn’t? Or is it all just semantics?

Followed a link from Instapundit: AT REDSTATE, debunking another Obama-is-a-Muslim story.. Hmmm this might be interesting.

I lead off with this snippet from the Red State Article that was itself just a snippet from the original article that was published on the Minority Report.

The fact is, Sen Obama is toast, based on substance and issues. When we allow fools like these purveyors of hate the freedom of spreading lies about our opposition, we also allow our political opponents the right to spread lies in return. RedState: With “Friends” Like This — Credibility On The Net

Exactly right! Minority Report gets it exactly right when it takes to task the sorry post that lied about what Axelrod Said. He did NOT say that Barack was a Muslim. This sentence was made up by the offending “conservative blog”.

A Muslim who is also half Hawaiian Christian white-boy.”

But…Minority Report might want to restrain a bit from the Barack is a Muslim is a hoax bit. It may not be quite the hoax you think it is.

However, when “conservatives” on the internet perpetrate a hoax to damage the Democratic nominee, they are in fact damaging their own side in the political debate

The hoax being that Barack is a Muslim. But what if he is? Not by choice but by technicality? I give you snippet from an excellent article by Daniel Pipes. Pay attention in particular to the highlighted text in bold.

Does any of the above information from the Chicago Tribune article refute my analysis, as MMfA contends? It raises questions about two details in the Los Angeles Times account (the accuracy of the Catholic school’s registration form and the reliability of Zulfan Adi as a source on Obama). But on the larger issue of Obama’s religious practices during his Jakarta years, it confirms the Times account. Note in particular three excerpts from Barker’s article:

  • “Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia” – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.
  • “Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said” – confirming that he did pray in the mosque.
  • “Obama’s 3rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family [said that] ‘Rarely, Barry went to the mosque with Lolo’” – confirming that Obama attended mosque services.

All this matters, for if Obama once was a Muslim, he is now what Islamic law calls a murtadd (apostate), an ex-Muslim converted to another religion who must be executed. Were he elected president of the United States, this status, clearly, would have large potential implications for his relationship with the Muslim world.

In sum: Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim who rarely or occasionally prayed with his step-father in a mosque. This precisely substantiates my statement that he “for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father.”

Why do technicalities matter? Because Barack was so adamant about never being a Muslim all of this calls into question his integrity…he is supposed to be different. eh? From Daniel Pipes again.

As Barack Obama’s candidacy comes under increasing scrutiny, his account of his religious upbringing deserves careful attention for what it tells us about the candidate’s integrity.

Obama asserted in December, “I’ve always been a Christian,” and he has adamantly denied ever having been a Muslim. “The only connection I’ve had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father’s side came from that country [Kenya]. But I’ve never practiced Islam.” In February, he claimed: “I have never been a Muslim. … other than my name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for 4 years when I was a child [Indonesia, 1967-71] I have very little connection to the Islamic religion.”

Never is a pretty strong word. Never use it unless it is true. Minority Report would have better served its readers by pointing out the incongruities of Barack’s past than to take him at his word. Minority Report’s is exactly right that we shouldn’t be making up facts as we go. But we also shouldn’t be ignoring them either. Especially when they show Barack to be a person who lies to the same degree of the blog Minority Report originally and rightfully took to task.

Just the facts.

New Search Engine CUIL Shows with a Saddam Al Qaeda Search My Site in 4 of Top 6 Results with my site listed at #1 as well…weeeeeee.

This blog began because of my desire to have a space to catalog all of the links that I had found regarding the collaboration of Saddam and Al Qaeda. Start here.  But don’t miss these posts either, here and here and lets not forget here. It is gratifying to know that I may have had some small effect on the debate.

CUIL was linked to by Drudge and touted as a challenger to Google. Nice to know I score high in their search algorithms.

"Want some torture with your peanuts?"…You can’t make this shit up! Sharia is starting to sound better than our Government!

My goodness if this weren’t so scary it would be funny. All of us will be wearing shock bracelets when we fly. Maybe we are closer to this than we know: “The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.” Thomas Jefferson.

By Jeffrey Denning

Just when you thought you’ve heard it all…
A senior government official with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has expressed great interest in a so-called safety bracelet that would serve as a stun device, similar to that of a police TaserÂŽ. According to this promotional video found at the Lamperd Less Lethal, Inc. website, the bracelet would be worn by all airline passengers (video also shown below).

This bracelet would:

• take the place of an airline boarding pass

• contain personal information about the traveler

• be able to monitor the whereabouts of each passenger and his/her luggage

• shock the wearer on command, completely immobilizing him/her for several minutes
The Electronic ID Bracelet, as it’s referred to, would be worn by every traveler “until they disembark the flight at their destination.”  Yes, you read that correctly. Every airline passenger would be tracked by a government-funded GPS, containing personal, private and confidential information, and would shock the customer worse than an electronic dog collar if the passenger got out of line. No no nooooo NOT the Panties…I will tell you anything you want to know, just don’t put those panties on my head! Arrrrggggghhh did you SEE the Tramp those came off of?

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher should be ashamed of himself…doesn’t he know that if we ask a mass murdering pile of shit a question about who he is planning on murdering next and he doesn’t want to answer we are supposed to apologize for our temerity in asking the question in the first place? Next thing you know he is going to be wanting to actually kill our enemies on the battlefield and we absolutely mustn’t do that!

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher on Wednesday dismissed the idea that taunting terrorism suspects with women’s panties is a form of torture.

In a debate about detainee treatment at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, the California Republican cited panties eight times, arguing that making suspected terrorists wear women’s underwear on their heads isn’t demeaning and degrading enough to be called torture.

“You’re suggesting that the behavior of, what, panties on his head … is unacceptable interrogation technique for a man who was involved in a conspiracy to kill tens of thousands of Americans?” Rohrabacher asked during a House Foreign Affairs Committee hearing. Lordy Lordy…Where have all the Republicans like Dole gone?

All of this stems from the lack of balls among the Republicans. The big watch word has been working with the otherside of the aisle as if the otherside of the aisle is interested in anything other than winning. Actually if the policies of the Democrats were not such a awful disaster I would admire their tenacity and singleminded focus on winning.

Head Democrat in the House Admits Iran Fighting the United States…

Pelosi declares that the surge didn’t work! Instead she says that any progress made is due to the goodwill of the Iranians which is sort of interesting considering the US Government has been so coy about the Iranian involvement. Oh well even Democrats can be right twice a day…or is that optimistic? Mind you she is right about the Iranian involvement…she is wrong about why the surge worked. Our country kicked ass. But we need to kick more ass and that ass is Persian.

Well, the purpose of the surge was to provide a secure space, a time for the political change to occur to accomplish the reconciliation. That didn’t happen. Whatever the military success, and progress that may have been made, the surge didn’t accomplish its goal. And some of the success of the surge is that the goodwill of the Iranians-they decided in Basra when the fighting would end, they negotiated that cessation of hostilities-the Iranians.  Hot Air Âť Blog Archive Âť Pelosi: Some of the success of the surge is due to Iran’s “goodwill”

Some are wishing that the President rise up and smack this Democrat. Well gee, for what? For admitting what the President refuses to admit publicly, that we are at war with the Iranians? Hell I have been saying this since 241 Marines were blown apart by their proxies the Hezb’allah. The President and his team have been going to lengths to assure us such things as this bit from Tony Snow in a press conference when asked Does the president … believe that this is as much the United States’ war as it is Israel’s war?”, “Why would it be our war? I mean, it’s not on our territory. This is a war in which the United States — it’s not even a war. What you have are hostilities, at this point, between Israel and Hezbollah. I would not characterize it as a war.” Our war? Nah not enough Americans have died yet…we are waiting till they do! Tony Snow. Well okey dokey. Have the President talk to us about Iran and while he is at it have him discuss why he takes pictures with Terrorists?

You will notice in the rotation of my header photo the pictures of the Marines after the explosion. I have not forgotten even though it seems that every US Politician has. ACE and others are in an uproar…I think it is amusing. Democrats are such a funny breed of humans. Just let them talk.

Besides our President having ceded the high ground on the single worst terror attack in history seems uniquely unable to smack anyone around. Heck he even makes a habit of holding hands with the King of a country that everyone in the world understands funds most of the terror.  But ignore me I am a bitter Southerner who thinks that killing your enemies works better than kissing them.

Merry Old England…Soon to be a much less merry Islamic Nation armed with Nuclear Weapons. GREAT NEWS!

Al Qaeda was ejected from Afghanistan because we didn’t want them to have a base and safe haven from which to attack us. Then we went to war with Iraq because of the possibility that he might give his WMD’s to the terrorists he was supporting. Given the demographic nightmare (see Mark Steyn’s America Alone The End of the World as We Know It!) occurring in England when do we go to war with them? You laughing? Think I am loony? Check this article from the Church Of England. (editors note: for some bizarre reason the Church of England’s Newspaper gives each article published the same url so you cannot follow the link. Sorry but am glad that I have the entire article”)

Religious trends and our religious future

If recent reports of trends in religious observance prove to be correct, then in some 30 years the mosque will be able to claim that, religiously speaking, the UK is an Islamic nation, and therefore needs a share in any religious establishment to reflect this. The progress of conservative Islam in the UK has been amazing, and it has come at a time of prolonged decline in church attendance that seems likely to continue.

Guess some of the folks preaching the religion of multiculturalism are smiling about my worry of an Islamic Nation with Nuclear Submarines and Nuclear Missiles and Nuclear Weapons in general.  After all what is so bad about an Islamic Nation having nuclear weapons. Pakistan has them.

This progress has been enthusiastically assisted by this government in particular with its hard-line multi-cultural dogma and willingness to concede to virtually every demand made by Muslims. Perhaps most importantly the government has chosen to allow hard-liners to act as representing all Muslims, and more liberal Muslims have almost completely failed to produce any leadership voices to compete, leading many Britons to wonder if there are indeed many liberal Muslims at all, surely a mistake.

Wait just a moment! Didn’t “famous” American blogger’s like Dean Esmay and Bill from INDC claim that Islam was moderate? Didn’t Bush claim that we only had to allow them the vote and liberal democratic Republics would be standing up all over the Middle East.

At all levels of national life Islam has gained state funding, protection from any criticism, and the insertion of advisors and experts in government departs national and local. A Muslim Home Office adviser, for example, was responsible for Baroness Scotland’s aborting of the legislation against honour killings, arguing that informal methods would be better. In the police we hear of girls under police protection having the addresses of their safe houses disclosed to their parents by Muslim officers who think they are doing their religious duty.

Honor killings…sounds so noble. Such a noble religion for killing young women. Such a moderate religion…such a moderate philosophy.

While men-only gentlemen’s clubs are now being dubbed unlawful, we hear of municipal swimming baths encouraging ‘Muslim women only’ sessions and in Dewsbury Hospitals staff waste time by turning beds to face Mecca five times a day — a Monty Pythonesque scenario of lunacy, but astonishingly true. Prisons are replete with imams who are keen to inculcate conservative Islam in any inmates who are deemed to be culturally ‘Muslim’: the Prison service in effect treats such prisoners as a cultural block to be preached to by imams at will. Would the Prison service send all those with ‘C of E’ on their papers to confirmation classes with the chaplain?! We could go on.

So then when do we attack?

The point is that Islam is being institutionalised, incarnated, into national structures amazingly fast, at the same time as demography is showing very high birthrates. Charles Taylor’s new and classic work on the Secular Age charts the rise of the secular mindset and what he calls the ‘excarnation’ of Christianity as it is levered out of state policy and structures. Christianity is now regarded as bad news, the liberal elite’s attack developed in the 1960s took root in the educationalist empire, and to some extent even in areas of the church.

Aren’t liberals fun?

Today the Christian story is fading from public imagination, while Islam grows apace. There needs to be some fresh thinking in this area where the claims of Christ are sensitively explained. Our church leaders must develop ways of explaining this, as our feature on mission and evangelism this week demonstrates. Church of England News – Editorial

Well gee a radical Islamic nation with Nuclear Weapons and the means to deliver them. What could go wrong?

Evolution of a Republican Politician

Satirist Iowahawk captures the evolution of a Republican Politicians as only he can!

Return to Sender

Dear 3rd District Voter:

Are you sick and tired of Bill Clinton and his tax-and-spend insider Democrat friends in Congress? Then please cast your vote me, Jerry Bristol, in the upcoming 1994 election for the 3rd District seat in the United States House of Representatives. iowahawk: Return to Sender

What makes this even more hilarious is even now Republicans don’t get it. We still have that clown McCain talking about legalizing the illegals. I take special glee in tossing out campaign donation forms from the Republicans, Bush and McCain. I will donate to Jindal but only because he is actually a Conservative.

This line stands out because Republicans are actually trying this…vote for McCain because he is better than that Radical Nutjob Obama. Whats worse is they are right. As awful as McCain is he is worlds better than Obama. Oh mama how did we get here!

For example, the latest 2006 Townsburgh Gazette Poll indicates that many of you are dissatisfied with the war in Iraq.   As a longtime voice of opposition to the Bush administration on the war, especially the parts that aren’t going well, I have organized a special select committee to investigate and fix blame, and set a timetable for withdrawal tied to tracking poll benchmarks.

That’s the kind of leadership you will continue to get with me, Jerry Bristol. Like you’re really going to vote for that Kos lunatic the Democrats nominated.

Sincerely,
Congressman Jerry Bristol

We’re so sorry Uncle Mohammed! We didn’t mean to dishonor a book that calls for the rape and murder of our families.

Reason #1,499 that the Iraqi war has become a mockery of our intentions. When Republicans sit around the campfire at night wondering why they are in the wilderness they might just take a gander at items like this absurdity. I am a Conservative Republican who hasn’t given one red cent to the Republican party in a good long time.

Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi said he had received an official apology from the top U.S. general in Iraq, General David Petraeus, in a meeting with Lieutenant-General Lloyd Austin, the number two U.S. military commander in Iraq. Iraqi VP demands action against U.S. soldier over Koran | International | Reuters

Our very top General in Iraq spent quality time apologizing to the “Vice President” of Iraq.  And that apology wasn’t good enough for Hajji.

One of the guarantees I received from General Austin is that they are committed to showing respect to holy sites and traditions of the Iraqi people … But I don’t believe that is enough.”

No Hajji wants us to have all the US soldiers protecting his sorry ass and those of his people, who it might be said he could NOT protect without the US Soldiers, sign some sort of promise that they will respect hajji’s traditions and customs. Like the one where you behead prisoners…oops no not that one. Maybe they mean the one where they get to murder any woman in sight if said woman might complain about the size of their…ego. Yea ego.

Hashemi said he told Austin that American soldiers should be required to sign an agreement to respect holy sites and the cultures and traditions of Iraq.

“I asked that this document is distributed today to American soldiers and officers and that they sign this document. So that if they violate this they will be held to account and face the most severe punishment in the future,” Hashemi said.

Most severe punishment…hmm that freedom of speechy thing hasn’t quite filtered up to the leaders yet has it? Hajji and his fellow compatriots should be left to their own devices. We should keep troops nearby and stomp them if needed. But this trying to teach a bunch of tribes how to act like they weren’t raised by wolves is just so much bullshit. I am tired of hearing about Hajji. I never signed on to teaching hajji how to build the most advanced civilization in the world. Hell we couldn’t even teach the French how to do that. Perpetually Offended Religion (Guess which one), Offended…Brussels Journal at Fault for Hounding the Poor Dears…naturally

The Sun comes up in the East and goes down in the West and just as reliably the Western Press finds fault with those who point out the Flaws of the Religion of the Perpetually Offended, not with the religion.

From the Who saw that coming? file, it would appear that the pulpit we mentioned a few days ago is now being targeted by outraged Turks. [Ed.:—Okay, maybe not "Turks," so much as they're "Practitioners of the Religion of Peace."] Of course, rather than dealing with the problem (i.e., people who constantly rage against inanimate objects), Belgian authorities have decided that treating the symptoms is sufficient:Police Protection for Provocative Pulpit · snapped shot

mohammed-dendermonde-3

Mohammed sculpture in Belgian Church. This was commissioned after the battle of Vienna to celebrate the Christian victory over the Muslim Hordes. The battle marked the turning point in the 300-year struggle between the forces of the Central European kingdoms and the Ottoman Empire. Over the sixteen years following the battle, the Habsburgs of Austria gradually occupied and dominated southern Hungary and Transylvania, which had been largely cleared of the Turkish forces.

Bush wasn’t kidding when he declared we are in a long war…honestly don’t think he understood how long.

According to the Belgian press the pulpit controversy has been deliberately caused by [the Brussels Journal], which is being described as “pretending to be neo-conservative” but run by “neo-fascists.” Piet Buyse, the mayor of Dendermonde, told the media that he deplores that the pulpit “figures on websites which aim to provoke negative reactions from Muslims.” The mayor said that the depicted man represents an unbeliever and may also be Luther or Calvin

Makes sense, after all a blogger from Brussels Journal, isn’t likely to cut your freaking head off for calling him a fascist. Sadly the same cannot be said of the other side of the equation. So if you are some sort of pissant government functionary it is much easier to attack the guys who won’t be cutting your head off than it is to attack those who just might.

Btw go over and support the Brussels Journal since they are fighting such a good fight on the front lines.

Slip Sliding Away…Slip Sliding Away…you know, the less you defend Freedom of Speech the more it slip slides away.

Depressing when France is more courageous than the United States. But the truth hurts…witness this editor who was fired for publishing the cartoons in the French Newspaper France Soir. We are at war right now and since this is largely an ideological war, words matter. The ability to speak freely matters. Here is Flemming Rose commenting on the failure of the American Press to publish the cartoons in solidarity with the fight to keep speech free.

“It reads on the top of the New York Times, ‘All the News That’s Fit to Print,’ but it’s very hard to argue that this was not news on February 1, 2006,” the culture editor of Denmark’s Jyllands-Posten, Flemming Rose, said Wednesday night during a speech at Stanford University. Most American newspapers did not publish the cartoons, which include images of Muhammad with a bomb in his turban and of suicide bombers being greeted by the Muslim prophet in heaven.

“Europe has usually been criticized for being politically correct and on the defense when it comes to Islam, but more European newspapers published the cartoons,” he said. “We might not have had the kind of ongoing crisis if more newspapers around the world would have published the cartoons at the same time because by doing so you would have drawn a clear line. … Instead, it was pretty unclear what people in liberal democracies thought of this issue.” Cartoon Editor Disillusioned With U.S. Press | The New York Sun

Our press grievously failed to live up to their responsibility of being the guardians of free speech. By appeasing the easily offended muslims they have ceded ground in our fight that we will not get back. We should have published those cartoons. Weasel little nothings like James David Dickson editor of The Michigan Review making sorry excuses for not living up to his responsibility did us no favors. Witness this poor excuse for failure and notice that it is the National Review that gives him a stage to embarrass himself. Did they agree with his stance?

The Danish cartoons arose from a desire to combat European self-censorship, but the almost-uniform refusal of American editors to reprint the cartoons speaks to the extent to which our press truly is free. In the case of The Michigan Review, this meant freedom from the sophomoric, macho impulse to offend for the sake of it, as if to pretend that discretion isn’t the better part of valor. Americans self-censor because we don’t see the need to offend; Europeans self-censor because they fear an Islamic backlash. The Danes profane the prophet Mohammed to include Muslims in their culture; we don’t profane Mohammed because, frankly, we wouldn’t do it to anyone else.

Absolutely incredible. This twit exercises his freedom by avoiding confrontation with those who would steal it away.

Here are the French, endlessly portrayed as cowards:

Under the headline “We have the right to caricature God,” a French newspaper today reprinted the Danish cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that have ignited extraordinary anti-Danish protests, death threats and boycotts across the Muslim world. France Soir published the drawings, first printed by Jyllands-Posten, a right-of-centre Danish broadsheet last September, across pages four and five of this morning’s edition with an editorial that defended the freedom of the press. “The publication of 12 cartoons in the Danish press has shocked the Muslim world for whom the representation of Allah and his prophet is banned,” the newspaper said. “But because no religious dogma can impose its view on a democratic and secular society, France Soir publishes the incriminated cartoons.”

POLL: Britons Fear Racial Violence: “Almost two-thirds of people in Britain fear race relations are so poor tensions are likely to spill over into violence, a BBC poll has suggested. Of the 1,000 people asked, 60% said the UK had too many immigrants and half wanted foreigners encouraged to leave.” The multi-cultural progress meets with its usual success.

Ask the Scold

Captures the idiocy of our age…take a look right now.

Dear James,
I’m sorry, but I can’t help you with this one. Given the facts that the vendor was selling falafel and that he mentioned 74 lashes (a popular punishment for sodomy in Iran), there is a good chance he is a practicing member of the Islamic faith.
While I like to think that all minority groups are special and equal, the plain truth is that his minority group is more special than yours. A very few, radical members of his minority group are easily upset and have been known to commit acts of violence and murder when they are riled. As your minority group, the LGBT community, generally buys new curtains when upset, I’m going to have to side with the Islamists on this issue. I don’t want my head cut off.
No hard feelings, I hope?

Saddam and Al Qaeda Sitting in a Tree…of course they had a Collaborative Relationship, duh.

Time to remember why we went to war again since the Bush Administration cannot be bothered to make the case.

This was published as a blog post to commemorate the 5th Anniversary of 9/11. It is time to remember why we are fighting in Iraq.

Why did I make this list of Saddam’s Connections and Collaborations with Al Qaeda?

This list started out as just an area to drop links that I found relevant regarding the most obvious reason for taking Saddam out of power, his use of Islamic terrorists to wage war by proxy. This aspect of Saddam’s madness has always been the central reason for deposing him. We could not allow any Dictator who believed in using Islamic terrorists as proxies to have any sort of major weapons. The crux was his desire to use Islamic terrorists as proxies in wars against us, which he states as a viable strategy against us in his conversations with Ambassador Glaspie prior to Former President Bush’s war to take back Kuwait.

As a father it struck me early on how important it was to have valid reason for going to war. Theorists, policy makers, and various bureaucrats might believe UN Resolutions were important enough to go to and sustain war but as a father I knew it wouldn’t be. None of my children mattered so little to me that I would waste them upholding such a cynical organization as the UN. But showing clear connections and collaborations between a nation and those terrorists we knew to be attacking and I would support going to war.

Our war is far from over. To do our part at home we need to respond against those who try and stop our battle for survival by discrediting our war in Iraq specifically, and against Islamic totalitarians in general. Fight back against those who try to say that Saddam was not linked to terror, either in private conversations, letters to the editor, radio talk shows or wherever they make themselves known. Now when you hear someone make the claim that there was no evidence of Saddam’s links to terror you have at your fingertips enough evidence to make effective counterpoints.

Here is a sample of the terrific headlines off of Dr. Melissa Clouthier’s blog. Now quit staring and go over there and read.

Frankly I am embarrassed for Tyrrell regarding his fawning over a Islamist loving Grover Norquist.

R. Emmett Tyrrell is shocked, SHOCKED I tell you that Linda Chavez is not a big fan of Grover “Arabist” Norquist.  Here is a snippet from his Article over at the American Spectator. Course I am shocked that neither of them made any mention of Grover Norquist’s scary alliances with terrorists and their enablers. What a shame it is to see a magazine that I have absolutely loved get caught up in the adoration of a man whose loyalties must be suspect.

Pajamas Media has a blockbuster report on Islamic Penetration into the DOD…why am I not surprised?

Pierre Legrand’s Pink Flamingo Bar

After all the Commander and Chief of this once great country likes to hang out with terrorists.

For more than fifty years, the Institute for Defense Analyses (IDA) has been one of the leading government-sponsored and -funded research institutions, conducting highly classified research for the military and intelligence community’s most secret projects. Pajamas Media » Blog Archive » Your Tax Dollars Funding Terror

No doubt you are wondering what am I smoking to be making those sorts of accusations towards the man who once said.

Our war on terror begins with al Qaeda, but it does not end there.  It will not end until every terrorist group of global reach has been found, stopped and defeated.  (Applause.)

Who further said that very same night.

Our response involves far more than instant retaliation and isolated strikes.  Americans should not expect one battle, but a lengthy campaign, unlike any other we have ever seen.  It may include dramatic strikes, visible on TV, and covert operations, secret even in success.  We will starve terrorists of funding, turn them one against another, drive them from place to place, until there is no refuge or no rest.  And we will pursue nations that provide aid or safe haven to terrorism.  Every nation, in every region, now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists.  (Applause.)  From this day forward, any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.

But who days before had been hanging out with a terrorist.

9/14/2001 President Bush plays patsy cake with Islamic “Leaders” at a Washington “Prayer” service for the victims of 9/11. The rubble is still smoking and President Bush has at his side, Abdurahaman Alamoudi who US Intelligence suspected of having ties to the people who knocked the buildings down in the first goddamn place. Our Islamic friend Abdurahaman goes on to be prosecuted for terrorist ties and is now serving time. But it gets even better! Also at our President’s side is Muzzammil Siddiqi the spiritual leader of the Islamic Society of Orange county and who had claimed an year earlier that the US deserved to be attacked for our ties.

Muzzammil had served as a translator for Blind Sheikh Omar Abdul-Rahman whilst he lectured about violent jihad. And since it can only get worse in attendance at these lectures were such terrorist luminaries as Adam Gadahn and Khalil Deek who were part of a Al Qaeda Sleeper cell operating in the States.

And Bush is praying with these folks. Praying for what? Brains? Can you imagine how hard those “peaceful muslims” were laughing at our “Commander in Chief”?

So it is not a surprise at all that we should find DOD infiltrated with Islamic terrorists. Actually it is probably a lot worse than just a couple of Departments.

Lets not forget out “Commander in Chief” literally holding hands with the major sponsor of terrorism in the world!

Tip Toe Through the Tulips with You...

So go over to PJ Media and read this story and weep for this country. Weep for the imbeciles who elected such leaders as Carter, Bush, Clinton and Bush. We do not want to be bothered with the details of running our country but details have a knack of rising up and smacking us upside of our heads. If we wait long enough the details will smack so hard we will die.

Blog Search on Google for Islam and this site comes up #4 out of 18,032,042…WOW!

The article Islam is the Problem, Moderation Not the Solution…so says Magdi Cristiano Allam comes up as number four if you do a Google Blog search for “Islam”.

Number4GoogleIslamSearch

Islam is the Problem, Moderation Not the Solution…so says Magdi Cristiano Allam

This old post of mine is relevent to this discussion. Recently the Pope baptized Magdi Cristiano Allam who for the longest time has been one of the major faces of so-called Moderate Islam. From Spenglers terrific article:  Magdi Allam has a powerful voice as deputy editor of Italy’s newspaper of record, Corriere della Sera, and a bestselling author. For years he was the exemplar of “moderate Islam” in Europe, and now he has decided that Islam cannot be “moderate”.

For too long we have labored under the idea that we can change Islam. We can moderate an immoderate religion. We can change the nature of Mohammed’s legacy. We can do none of this. Islam is immoderate. Mohammed is immoderate. There is no such thing as moderate Islam. Islam is not the religion of peace. You should run from anyone so foolish as to make the claim that Islam is a peaceful religion. Listen to Magdi Cristiano and understand that we are indeed in a fight for civilization and the sooner we understand that fact the sooner we will start fighting back.

Magdi: I asked myself how it was possible that those who, like me, sincerely and boldly called for a “moderate Islam”, assuming the responsibility of exposing themselves in the first person in denouncing Islamic extremism and terrorism, ended up being sentenced to death in the name of Islam on the basis of the Koran. I was forced to see that, beyond the contingency of the phenomenon of Islamic extremism and terrorism that has appeared on a global level, the root of evil is inherent in an Islam that is physiologically violent and historically conflictive [emphasis added].

Not with swords but with philosophy and by calling all pious Muslims who are not violent to Christanity. Pope Benedict is showing us the way confirming my feelings about him. We must fight back. But it is unreasonable for us to try and use secularists such as  Ayaan Hirsi Ali to call the non-violent faithful away from Islam. We cannot substitute those folks belief in the All Mighty with nothing.

So then without further ado here is my article from 2 years ago taking Thomas Barnett on for his failiing to realize that Islam itself causes much of the problems associated with so called “gap” countries.

Was doing some research regarding a post I am working on and came across this March 2003 interview of Dr. Thomas Barnett author of “The Pentagon’s New Map”. This book sought to define the sort of wars we might find our country involved in these coming years and was so revolutionary and at once commonsensical that it found a wide audience and became a New York Times Bestseller. It was interesting to take a look at what he was saying years ago to see how well his predictions stood the test of time, even though 3 years doesn’t seem so long ago.

FITNA Live Leak intimidated by Muslim Hordes…Google to the rescue…

Live Leak had to pull this video because:

“Following threats to our staff of a very serious nature, and some ill informed reports from certain corners of the British media that could directly lead to the harm of some of our staff, Liveleak.com has been left with no other choice but to remove Fitna from our servers. This is a sad day for freedom of speech on the net but we have to place the safety and well being of our staff above all else. We would like to thank the thousands of people, from all backgrounds and religions, who gave us their support. They realised LiveLeak.com is a vehicle for many opinions and not just for the support of one. Perhaps there is still hope that this situation may produce a discussion that could benefit and educate all of us as to how we can accept one anothers culture. We stood for what we believe in, the ability to be heard, but in the end the price was too high.” Brennan

Apparently Google still had it up and I was able to get an English Copy. This video needs to go viral…which it has. But we all need to post it. A point is being made that the Muslims who get upset need to understand. Freedom of speech is paramount to freedom itself. We may not like what we say about each other but we better not force the other guy to shut up.

Seagulls cited for disturbing sleepy Cornish village delightfully entertaining 700-strong party of Muslims whose 5am call to prayer was interrupted by their nasty cawing. Mohammed said to not be amused.

Multiculturalism is such a sweet success in England.

Another resident said: “I loved it, I was hanging out of the window trying to hear. It’s a unique sound that reminds me of travelling and I’d much rather hear it than church bells.”

Indeed?!?!

Yesterday Muslim participants said the seagulls were louder than the call to prayers.

A mother of three from Manchester said: “It is a great time for us and brilliant for the kids to see somewhere a bit different. I can’t believe how beautiful it is here. The sea is lovely.

“I’m very surprised if people have a problem with the prayers call. It’s not very loud. They always put it at the lowest volume possible  sometimes we can hardly hear it.

“To be honest the seagulls and tractors around here are much noisier.” Sleepy Cornish village kept awake by 700-strong party of Muslims broadcasting 5am call to prayer by loudspeaker | the Daily Mail

Don’t Ask the Hard Questions about Obama yet…wait a few. Wait till we see the whites of his eyes then unleash all the stories regarding his insane friends and supporters, his Chicago connections, his dirty dealings and his lovely wife….

In the paranoid hateful world of Obama’s pastor and Michelle Obama that title will be racist. It is merely a take off of the old army admonition to soldiers to wait till you cannot miss.

All along this election season it has seemed to me, especially after theďż˝Democrats narrowed it down to Obama and Billary, that we couldn’t lose the Presidency. Now with Obama taking a serious lead it seems even more likely that we will hold on to the Presidency. But we cannot fire prematurely.

Let’s not wake up the Democrats to the idiocy of nominating someone we can destroy so quickly that the nomination of McGovern will seem in comparison a brilliant maneuver. So if it were possible for me to be the leader of the Republicans I would ask our allies to lay back. Let the enemy, and Obama much more than Hillary is an enemy of the United States, be nominated to run against McCain. Then fire broadsides against a man who makes it so easy.

Does the Senator believe, as his revered pastor does (and as that pastor’s congregation apparently does too) that HIV was made in a government lab? Perhaps someone should ask him. Perhaps someone should have been asking this stuff six months ago.

The Corner on National Review Online

So Derb I would say we should be thankful that those questions have not been asked. The longer we wait the surer it becomes that he will be the nominee. With Obama as the nominee then we can have a field day of destroying that America Hater’s chance of winning more than 35% of the vote. The irony will be that McCain, who struggled to win the nomination, will win the biggest landslide in modern American History.

So lets hold our fires guys and gals…for just a few weeks more. Keep your powder dry…wait till we see the whites of the Democrats eye’s. Then we bring up all these uncomfortable positions and statements of his friends. Patience in this is a virtue. Let’s not forget that our goal is winning the White House not winning debating points prior to the real game.

The Corner Translates Henry Kissinger and yup he thinks democratization is dumb too.

A long time ago in another life when I labored under the illusion that I could make a difference I wrote an over long but fact filled piece that got about 10 hits. Democracy a fools errand or our only way out? Jeane Kirkpatrick responds In this article I set about tearing up the idea that Democracy was some sort of a good idea. The idea for centering the article around Jeanne Kirkpatrick came to me after her passing while I was catching up on her brilliance as our UN Ambassador. Ronald Reagan knew how to pick them. In the particular piece that caught Reagan’s eye was a absolutely damning argument against forcing democracy onto everyone. You can read this wonderful article for yourself here.

Well I am glad to see that Henry Kissinger has confirmed my belief that this Crusade President Bush has launched in the Middle East will not accomplish our main goal, securing our future from terror nations. Here is Henry Kissinger via the Corner:

Pentagon looking for ass with both hands comes up empty…Saddam’s Connections to Al Qaeda IS a Slam Dunk!

UPDATED: Ed Morrissey at Hot Air talking about the parts of the Pentagon report that were not covered in the Executive Summary.

Well it is just about time to publish this again seeing how the Pentagon insists on being dumb with reports like this one.  Next thing you know our government will be declaring that Islam is the religion of peace…oops.

Why did I make this list of Saddam’s Connections and Collaborations with Al Qaeda?
This list started out as just an area to drop links that I found relevant regarding the most obvious reason for taking Saddam out of power, his use of Islamic terrorists to wage war by proxy. To me this aspect of Saddam’s madness has always been the central reason for deposing him. We could not allow any Dictator who believed in using Islamic terrorists as proxies to have any sort of major weapons. The crux was his desire to use Islamic terrorists as proxies in wars against us, which he states as a viable strategy against us in the first example I provide below.

Fun things I did on Summer Vacation…leaked secret attempts to stop nuclear war CHECK, leaked bungles of the CIA CHECK…weeee!

The audacity and idiocy of the press continues unabated. Certainly much of this is driven by the fact that no one feels much danger these days. But regardless believing that it is immoral to force a reporter to give up his sources when those very same sources are breaking some very serious laws strikes me as absurd. Naturally it doesn’t strike the press corps as absurd…they have a right to aid and abet treachery in our supposedly secret services.

Multiculturalism…the West’s Hemlock

Mark Steyn on a tear against the most evil relic of Marxism, Multiculturalism.

Sharia in Britain? Taxpayer-subsidized polygamy in T.O.? Yawn. Nothing to see here. What was it they said in the Cold War? Better dead than red. We’re not like that anymore. Better screwed than rude. read more | digg story

Everywhere we look the West is under assault. The most common method of silencing us are the rules of Multiculturalism. At one point we will either have to discard these rules or fade away into the misty memory of history. Given that the victors write the history we will probably be forgotten or worse misrepresented. Then this worlds best chance of eventually finding its way to freedom would be lost.

Guess the Religion! ‘Father ’stones 14-year-old daughter to death’

Besmirched this losers honor. Besmirched this losers honor. Besmirched this losers honor…holy smokes. And we have folks defending this vile 7th century religion?

Tehran, 18 Feb. (AKI) – A man known as Sharif has reportedly stoned his fourteen-year-old daughter to death in southeastern Iran because for allegedly having a relationship with a man.

Sharif’s wife reported him to police after he and a friend killed the girl in Zahedan, capital of Baluchistan province.

Sharif showed no sign of remorse, telling police who interrogated him: “I suspected that my daughter had a relationship with a man and I had to stone her to death as she had besmirched my honour.”

“I had no other choice,” he said, telling police how he had carried out the stoning. AKI – Adnkronos international Iran: Father ’stones 14-year-old daughter to death’

Holy Smoke! The Ultimate Smoking Gun Against McCain! Jack Wheeler, President Reagan’s Fixer to the Rescue! UPDATED: I CALL BULLSHIT TO THIS ARTICLE UNLESS WHEELER CAN BACK IT UP!

UPDATED: After talking to Jack Wheeler tonight on Blog Radio. I believe that his hatred of McCain has him forgetting that stories of this magnitude need to be backed up with facts. While on the radio I kept thinking to myself, oh my goodness, I am actually taking someone seriously whose source is some mysterious Russian (aren’t they all?) figure whose code name is “Mr. T”???

There are plenty of reasons to defeat McCain and Wheelers article touches on a few but the big part of this story is a fantasy unless Wheeler can back it up. And no I don’t buy the crap about a few Congressmen being scared of standing up to McCain. I call bullshit to that fantasy. If it is not then they should stand up, unless Honor means nothing to them.

I feel dirty for posting this bullshit but my rules say I cannot take a post down. It has to stand as testament to my occasional stupidity. How embarrassing.

One Honor Killing Every Month in…Saudi Arabia? No, in Not So Merry England…weee isn’t Multiculturism fun?!?!

Wow isn’t multiculturalism fun? No, thats right Islam is not the problem…it is the radicals that are the problem. Hat Tip Hot Air…which by the way has become my first stop when opening my browser.

One woman every month is the victim of an “honour” killing. Whole communities are involved in assisting and covering up “honour violence” in Britain. Informal networks of taxi drivers, councillors and sometimes even police officers track down and return women who try to escape, researchers claim.

Walid Phares endorses Mitt

Some say that McCain’s strongest point is his desire to take the war to the enemy. But to me Bush’s weakest point was the fact that he never properly identified his enemy. Neither has McCain.

Mitt on the otherhand has indeed identified Global Jihadism as the enemy and he did it a long time ago. When I heard him speak in Baton Rouge near the beginning of the race he was talking about Global Jihadism. Don’t we want someone who will take the battle to the enemy instead of reacting to the enemy? I do.

Here is Mr. Phares making that exact point.

Senator McCain says it is “Radical Islam,” and pledges to increase the current level of involvement. On Iraq, the former Navy Pilot says he will continue to fight till there are no more enemies to fight. To me that is a trenches battlefield: We’ll pound them till they have no more trenches. Governor Romney says the enemy is Global Jihadism, and it has more than the one battlefield of Iraq. And because the Jihadists are in control of regimes, interests and omnipresent in the region and worldwide, the US counter strategies cannot and should not be limited to “entrenchment” but to counter attacks, preemptive moves and putting allies forces on the existing and new battlefields. Besides not all confrontations have to be militarily. The difference in wording between the general term “radical Islam” and the focused threat doctrine “Jihadism” says it all. One leads to concentrate one type of power in one place, regardless of what the enemy is and wants to do, and the other concept lead to pinch the foe from many places on multiple levels and decide over the ending process of the conflict.

Honor Killings? Is Yaser Abdel Said a Muslim? Is the Pope Catholic? 2 Dead Daughters…call me suspicious!

I know its evil for me to think that this man is a Muslim after all maybe his name does not indicate it…and maybe his picture does not indicate it.

Yaser Abdel Said

Course his two dead daughters might lead one to believe that he is. After all killing daughters seems to be becoming quite the sport among the fundamentalists Muslims.  What exactly drives a culture to sanction family’s killing their daughters, sisters and wives?  How do we understand a culture that does not bury this sort of behavior under a cloud of condemnation?  Exactly how does a culture like this ever move out of the middle ages?  How arrogant are we to believe we can create Democratic Republics from folks like these?  The central tenet of Democratic Republics is equality.  Are daughters, sisters and wives equal in a culture that condones their murder?

IRVING, Texas —  Police continued searching for a man suspected of shooting his two teenage daughters, including one who called 911 about an hour before officers found them dead in his taxi, police said.

Yaser Abdel Said, 50, of the Dallas suburb of Lewisville, is accused of shooting Sarah Yaser Said, 17, and Amina Yaser Said, 18, in his taxi Tuesday night and abandoning it in a parking lot, leaving them to die.

Police have not released a motive for the shootings, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported in its online edition Wednesday.

Forcing Democracy into the Square Peg of Islam…

Pierre Legrand’s Pink Flamingo Bar

Andrew McCarthy gets it right again when he bemoans the idiocy of trying to impose democracy onto Islamic nations.

A recent CNN poll showed that 46 percent of Pakistanis approve of Osama bin Laden.

Aspirants to the American presidency should hope to score so highly in the United States. In Pakistan, though, the al-Qaeda emir easily beat out that countrys current president, Pervez Musharraf, who polled at 38 percent. Andrew C. McCarthy on Benazir Bhutto on National Review Online

Not much mentioned is the Pew Poll that in 2003 showed Bin Laden with 58% support among the Muslims in the most populous Islamic Nation, Indonesia. Let that sink in for a moment or two.  A mere year and a half after the worst mass murdering terrorist attack in history had occurred the people of Indonesia, who are supposedly moderate/mainstream, thought Bin Laden was A-Ok. Here is the Pew Poll showing those numbers alongside the updated 07.14.05 numbers.  Btw before you claim that 2005 was long ago the 2007 numbers went up for Indonesia.  Now 41% of those moderate/mainstream Muslims in Indonesia have high confidence in Bin Laden.

That is a bit worrisome is it not?  Now exactly why do we want to give these folks the right to vote?  Perhaps it is better for us if they are ruled by strongmen that we fund and equip to hold down the overwhelming number ignorant folks under their country’s banner.  Personally I don’t see a need for democracy.  I see a much bigger need for us to make it clear that you may love Bin Laden in your hearts but if you support him with your wallets, or worse, we will send folks to visit that will remove you from the equation for the rest of your life.  Enough of this pandering to Islam.

For instance it has come out that there is a fight inside of the Pentagon between an Islamic nutjob Hasham Islam who is the “right-hand” man for the Assistant Sec of Defense, you cannot make this stuff up, and the primary analyst responsible for defining Islamic Extremism, Stephen Coughlin.

5 Myths About Terrorism – Or Why Our Children Leave Even Once Great Colleges as Numbnuts!

Most of the article is common liberal pap until he reaches this point where he explodes into an orgy of multicultural dumbness.

Democracy a fool’s errand or our only way out? Jeane Kirkpatrick responds

After 9/11 our rage demanded and common sense required that we strike back at our enemies. The American people did not require that their leaders wonder about our enemies motives. Commonsense declared that anyone willing to run passenger planes full of women, children and innocents into buildings full of the same could not be understood. Commonsense only required that we identify our enemies and then strike them from the face of the earth. Commonsense is in very short supply in Washington.
