German Chancellor Merkel Speaks Out Against the Fed’s Policy of Loose Money…WOW! A Leader Speaks The Truth?

German Chancellor Merkel spoke out against the policy of the Central Banks of the United States (Federal Reserve), Great Britain and the EU. When a German Chancellor speaks out against the policies of the Central Bank�s of the world we would be wise to listen.

Aides say Ms Merkel’s concern about the expanding remits of the Fed and the Bank of England is genuine. She does not blame the implosion of the subprime mortgage market for the economic crisis. She does not see securitisation as the culprit. Rather, she thinks the loosening of monetary policy under Alan Greenspan’s Fed chairmanship fuelled the creation of asset price bubbles and encouraged excessive leverage within and beyond the financial sector.

This risky policy, she thinks, was supported by a US government that also rejected any calls – including from Germany when Berlin was chairing the Group of Eight industrial nations in 2007 – for tighter regulation of financial markets. Ms Merkel "sees the huge amounts of liquidity being pumped into financial systems with some concern. She is worried that some of the unconventional action being deployed by central banks cannot be easily reversed," says one confidant. "We do not want to be fuelling a new bubble. Why is she so worried about loosening of the monetary policy under the Fed? INFLATION! The Germans have an intimate knowledge of what happens when inflation ravages a country.

The Fed�s actions are driven by exactly the same sort of short range thinking that has destroyed specific sectors of the US economy. GM signs a labor agreement 50 years ago because they didn�t wonder what might happen down the road if they had some rough spots. And now a 100 year old company is taken over by the Government. Short Range Thinking�will be the death of us.

Sometimes you simply have to accept some pain to avoid the death blow. GM should have said no then and dealt with the inevitable strikes then and they would be alive now. We should have never allowed the Government to remove the shackles we had around it in the form of our currency being backed by gold. At the point we allowed that, it was irresistible that the Government would inflate its way out of debts�and one day destroy this country. We as a people demanded more and more from the Government and corrupt politicians who knew better were more than willing to give it to us. We demanded that taxes NOT be raised and corrupt politicians were only too willing to not raise taxes. Well now the butchers bill has come due.

Well I am guessing that because Cap & Trade will damage the United States economy the Buffoon in Chief will be all for it. But that is just a guess…based on the fact that every single decision he has made so far has been an attack on this country. He is a traitor. Advice in an Obama administration interagency review memo to the Environmental Protection Agency warns that government regulation of greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act (CAA) will hurt the economy, and questions whether such a “precautionary” move would too expansively open up the door for government regulation.

“Making the decision to regulate CO2 under the CAA for the first time is likely to have serious economic consequences for regulated entities throughout the U.S. economy, including small businesses and small communities,” says one comment in the memo, which was officially sent by the White House’s Office of Management and Budget. “Should EPA later extend this finding to stationary sources, small businesses and institutions would be subject to costly regulatory programs such as New Source Review.” …

On April 17, Obama’s EPA Administrator, Lisa Jackson, issued a proposed “endangerment finding,” which would likely mean the EPA would regulate greenhouse gases — carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, hydrofluorocarbons, perfluorocarbons, and sulfur hexafluoride, treated as a group as an air pollutant — through the Clean Air Act.

The White House has not yet decided to go forward with the finding. There is a 60-day comment period following the finding. As part of this process, the Obama administration requested comment from various departments and agencies on the endangerment finding, which is where the memo came from. the uncertainties, and balancing any benefits to human health, society the
environment that may also occur.”

The finding document remains very separate from the TSD, with only occasional
references to the IPCC or particular CCSP report findings, and it is up to the reader’s
interpretation of the TSD to determine how the evidence has been weighed to arrive at
the conclusions above. The finding rests heavily on the precautionary principle, but the
amount of acknowledged lack of understanding about basic facts surrounding GHGs
seem to stretch the precautionary principle to providing for regulation in the face of
unprecedented uncertainty. (The TSD notes several areas where essential behaviors of
GHGs are "not well determined" and "not well understood" (e.g., why have U.S. methane
levels decreased recently?).) This could be remedied by expanding the discussion on pp.
25-31 to articulate more clearly how the Administrator weighed the scientific evidence
related to each impact or how/whether she gave more or less weight to particular impacts
for either the public health or the welfare finding and how she weighed uncertainty in her
deliberations. (emphasis mine)

It is slightly, but only slightly, heartening to know that at least some folks in Government are aware of the "slight" problems with Global Warming. But that doesn’t mean anything except that the MSM will have to work "slightly" harder to cover up the bullshit.

The Desert Rock Energy Facility…Flattering EPA Report, Now You See It! Now You Don’t! Fun Stuff Over At EPA!

On April 28th Obama fulfilled a campaign promise regarding bankrupting Coal Power plants. He accomplished this by having his EPA pull a permit that had already been issued for the Desert Rock Energy Facility.� Well that’s not all the EPA is pulling retroactively! They also pulled the flattering report they themselves wrote regarding the very same facility.

Take a look at these two screenshots of this report regarding that very same powerplant. Sounds like the EPA was all for it until Obama wasn’t and then poof the EPA made the report go away. Thank you Google Cache!

Obviously some serious money was lost since the permit was already issued but hey the Power Company probably wasn’t a big enough contributor to the various extortionists/national politicians we seem to have running all over the place. Change you can believe in!

I had to take screenshots because the original page no longer exists on the EPA website. You can search for Desert Rock on the EPA site and the 10th result you get is a link to the report, the�search result�still exists at this time. Well unfortunately for the EPA, Google Cache still had a copy. I took screenshots because gee you never know when stuff might just automagically disappear from Google Cache. ALBUQUERQUE � In a dramatic move yesterday, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) withdrew the air quality permit it issued last summer for the Desert Rock coal-fired power plant, which is slated to be built on the Navajo Nation in the Four Corners region just southwest of Farmington, New Mexico.

Naturally a goddamn Republican, Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, in Obama’s Cabinet is proposing this abortion.

The system would require all cars and trucks be equipped with global satellite positioning technology, a transponder, a clock and other equipment to record how many miles a vehicle was driven, whether it was driven on highways or secondary roads, and even whether it was driven during peak traffic periods or off-peak hours.

The device would tally how much tax motorists owed depending upon their road use. Motorists would pay the amount owed when it was downloaded, probably at gas stations at first, but an alternative eventually would be needed.

Rob Atkinson, president of the National Surface Transportation Infrastructure Financing Commission, the agency that is developing future transportation funding options, said moving to a national VMT would take about a decade.

Privacy concerns are based more on perception than any actual risk, Atkinson said. The satellite information would be beamed one way to the car and driving information would be contained within the device on the car, with the amount of the tax due the only information that’s downloaded, he said. Maybe it is time for Glenn Reynolds to revisit his piece in the Chicago Tribune from 1995. In this piece Glenn argues that the militias, that everyone during that time were getting worked up about, were being established far too early. The militias, in Glenn’s opinion, did not have a case yet.

The most important aspect of this theory was representation. Those who were not represented lacked the citizen’s duty of loyalty. A government that taxed its citizens without representation was thus no better than an outlaw, and citizens enjoyed the same right of resistance against its officers as they possessed against robbers.

As this is being typed our "representatives" are busy hiding their motives behind closed secret meetings in a rush to mortgage our grandchildren’s future to pay back political favors.

Is this taxation without representation? Does this idea of taxation without representation have some technical meaning that negates the pit in my stomach. The pit the result of my having absolutely no input on how much money will be wrenched from the sweat of my brow to pay back political favors. Furthermore does this meaning of taxation without representation take into account that my grandchildren certainly have no representation…I have none yet. And yet they are the ones who will be paying this ridiculous bill back.

Does Glenn still think the militias have no case? Even in 1995 he cautioned those in power to take heed of those who felt so unrepresented that they were arming themselves for the revolution. Perhaps that is a warning that needs to be revisited? It certainly feels as if my government is making war on me.

Read these first few paragraphs of an article in the Telegraph.

"It is essential that government support through asset relief should not be on a scale that raises concern about over-indebtedness or financing problems.”

The secret 17-page paper was discussed by finance ministers, including the Chancellor Alistair Darling on Tuesday.

National leaders and EU officials share fears that a second bank bail-out in Europe will raise government borrowing at a time when investors – particularly those who lend money to European governments – have growing doubts over the ability of countries such as Spain, Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Italy and Britain to pay it back. Notice anything missing? Well the more astute might notice that no figures are given. Did you know that the first version of this article did in fact mention the numbers. Did you also know that the numbers are staggering? Well one of the commenters on Digg spotted the edits and called them out on it. Here is that comment.

Wow !!! How quickly do they sanitize an article !!! The original article (updated 1:51 PM GMT) has 3 additional paragraphs that are missing from the 3:50 PM GMT update. I don’t think it is coincidence that the paragraphs that give the actual numbers were removed; those numbers were quite damning. The original article stated: "European Commission officials have estimated that impaired assets may amount to 44pc of bank balance sheet, The Commission estimates that so-called financial instruments in the ‘trading book’ total £12.3 trillion (13.7 trillion euros), equivalent to about 33pc of EU bank balance sheets. In addition, so-called ‘available for sale instruments’ worth £4trillion (4.5 trillion euros), or 11 pc of balance sheets, are also added by the Commission to arrive at the headline figure of £16.3 trillion." Those kinds of numbers can send the financial world into a full-blown panic !

Yesterday we found out that the panic in September was caused by a mysterious run on our banks to the tune of 550 billion dollars. Live Leak first uncovered this bombshell…apparently our Mainstream press couldn’t be bothered to investigate this.

Paul Kanjorski of Pennsylvania explains how the Federal Reserve told Congress members about a "tremendous draw-down of money market accounts in the United States, to the tune of $550 billion dollars." According to Kanjorski, this electronic transfer occured over the period of an hour or two.

"On Thursday Sept 15, 2008 at roughly 11 AM The Federal Reserve noticed a tremendous draw down of money market accounts in the USA to the tune of $550 Billion dollars in a matter of an hour or two.
Money was being removed electronically.
The treasury tried to help with $150 Billion.
But could not stem the tide.
It was an electronic run on the banks
The treasury intervened but had they not closed down the accounts they estimated that by 2 PM that afternoon. Within 3 hours. $5.5 Trillion would have been withdrawled and collapsed and within 24 hours the world economy."

Kanjorski does not provide further details.

This will end in tears. The Obama hysteria is not merely embarrassing to witness, it is itself contributory to the scale of the disaster that is coming. What we are experiencing, in the deepening days of a global depression, is the desperate suspension of disbelief by people of intelligence – la trahison des clercs – in a pathetic effort to hypnotise themselves into the delusion that it will be all right on the night. It will not be all right.

We have been here before. In the spring of 1997, to be precise, when a charismatic, young prime minister entered Downing Street, cheered by children bussed in for the occasion waving plastic Union Jacks. A very few of us at that time incurred searing reproaches for denouncing the Great Charlatan (as I have always denominated Tony Blair) and dissenting from the public hysteria. Three times a deluded Britain elected that transparent fraud. Yesterday, when national bankruptcy became a formal reality, we reaped the bitter harvest of the Blair/Brown imposture.

The burnt child, contrary to conventional wisdom, does not fear the fire. After the Blair experience there is no excuse for anybody in Britain falling for Obama. Yet today, in this country, even some of those who remained sane during the emotional spasm of the Diana aberration are pumping the air for Princess Barack. At a time of gross economic and geopolitical instability throughout the Western world, this is beyond irresponsibility.

To anyone who kept his head, the string of Christmas cracker mottoes booming through the public address system on Washington’s National Mall can only excite scepticism. It is crucial to recall the reality that lies behind the rhetoric. Denouncing "those who seek to advance their aims by inducing terror and slaughtering innocents" comes ill from a man whose flagship legislation, the Freedom of Choice Act, will impose abortion, including partial-birth abortion, on every state in the Union. It seems the era of Hope is to be inaugurated with a slaughter of the innocents.

Obama’s American Recovery and Reinvestment Plan is like one of those toxic packages traded by bankers: it camouflages many unaffordable gifts to his client state. With a federal deficit already at $1.2 trillion, Obama wants to squander $825 billion (which will undoubtedly mushroom to more than $1 trillion) on creating 600,000 more government jobs and a further 459,000 in "green energy" (useless wind turbines and other Heath-Robinson contraptions favoured by Beltway environmentalists).

It is frightening to think there is a real possibility that the entire world economy could go into complete meltdown and famine kill millions. Yet Western – and British – commentators are cocooned in a warm comfort zone of infatuation with America’s answer to Neil Kinnock. We should be long past applauding politicians of any hue: they got us into this mess. The best deserve a probationary opportunity to prove themselves, the worst should be in jail.

It is questionable whether the present political system can survive the coming crisis. Whatever the solution, teenage swooning sentimentality over a celebrity cult has no part in it. The most powerful nation on earth is confronting its worst economic crisis under the leadership of its most extremely liberal politician, who has virtually no experience of federal politics. That is not an opportunity but a catastrophe.

President-elect Barack Obama said he’ll make the “single largest new investment” in roads, bridges and public buildings since the Eisenhower Administration to lift the sagging economy and create jobs.

Obama, in his weekly radio speech today, said his plan to create or preserve 2.5 million jobs will also include making public buildings more energy efficient, repairing schools and modernizing health care with electronic medical records.

“We won’t just throw money at the problem,” he said. “We’ll measure progress by the reforms we make and the results we achieve — by the jobs we create, by the energy we save, by whether America is more competitive in the world.” Bloomberg.com: Worldwide

So then we go back to the gentleman who alone of the so-called economists correctly predicted our current dilemma Peter Schiff. If you don’t remember him or have never heard of him well:

"Nobody wants to listen to somebody like Peter because they don’t want to hear the message," she says. "When we launched Fox Business, he came on the show in October [2007] and flat out said among a whole panel of people, ‘The Dow is going below 10,000.’ At the time the Dow was around 14,000, and most of the people on the set burst out laughing. Of course, all that cold reality can be a bit much—like the time Claman and Schiff were out with their children and Schiff noticed a discarded old RCA television set on the sidewalk.

While calling the federal budget deficit he will inherit “enormous,” Obama said economic recovery is more important, “and that means that we can’t worry, short term, about the budget deficit.”

Inside Higher Education has a great article regarding a Professor who sued his students and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock after being falsely accused of racism. Sounds just like the sort of crazy nonsense that is wrong with Universities these days. Also sounds like the sort of battles that Republicans better get ready to fight considering Obama�s methods, and his allies quick use of racism charges to silence dissent.

Another accusation against him was that � in the same time frame when he had criticized affirmative action � he was insensitive in passing out �a basic grammar worksheet� to the class and telling students to focus more on their writing. There was no accusation that he focused on the black students, only that he raised this issue shortly after he has been critical of affirmative action. On this charge, Peltz noted that faculty members had been urged by the state Bar to focus more on writing issues because some law students were in danger of failing the Bar exam due to poor writing skills. Amazing he that wasn�t fired or perhaps he is tenured. Reverse racism, or affirmative action simply is racism and creates hatred, not fairness. I was fired by the Chairman because I refused to pass a black student who did not attend class or do any work; the Chair wanted him passed for racial quota purposes, so the Chair changed my grade of F to passing, thereby discriminating against all the other students. I didn�t care what race, ethnicity, age, sex, or attitude a student had, only that they were able to learn the material no matter what I had to do to help them to pass standard tests pursuant to obtaining a professional license. What the Chair did was wrong, to the students and to the profession.

Well I am feeling all warm and fuzzy knowing that grades are just handed out to meet quotas. What we are seeing here is the destruction of nearly 2500 years of experience regarding basic ideas, truth matters, honor matters, actually knowing the material matters. The question is can any Republican overcome their fear of being branded a racist to fight back? Perhaps we can take a cue from the Queen of Denmark.

The Queen of Denmark said it best �A counterbalance has to be found, and one has to, at times, run the risk of having unflattering labels placed on you. For there are some things for which one should display no tolerance. And when we are tolerant, we must know whether it is because of convenience or conviction.�

She was defending her right to stand up to Islam�s attempt to overwhelm Europe. We might take a cue from her as those would debase our civilization by eliminating standards try to destroy our nation in order to steal success. Hint success is not given, nor taken, it is earned. Obama is a terrifying prospect as a President. My faith in the American people has me believing that they are seeing through this crap but heaven help us if he manages to fool them.

Two campaigns are being waged right now for the presidency of the United States. No, I’m not talking about the Obama campaign and the McCain campaign. I’m talking about the real-world campaign and the meta-campaign.
The real-world campaign involves speeches and proposals and facts and scandals and political positions and news events. These details, however, are becoming increasingly irrelevant, and have become subsumed by the meta-campaign, which consists of perceptions, polls, reactions, analyses and summations. Until very recently, elections were decided by real-world facts — but not anymore. Facts and events in and of themselves are no longer important; what’s important is how everyone reacts to them. And how do we find out the public’s mood concerning this or that incident? Why, the media tells us, that’s how.
Or so we’ve been led to believe.

We’re all part of the campaign now. Every single one of us. Our opinions, our actions, are bundled together as a group and used as weapons in the race for the White House. When the media reports on what people think, either through public-opinion polling or reportage about anecdotal incidents, it becomes an endless feedback loop, in which the media’s representation of most people’s purported thoughts is supposed to influence everyone else’s thoughts. And then they take another poll to determine how effective the first poll was in influencing public opinion, and the cycle starts all over again. Since everyone now knows that any public expression of their political opinions might be reported by the media, even the most innocent activity becomes a calculated campaign action. Saying how you intend to vote is not simply an expression of how you intend to vote, but rather a component of the public barometer of how the majority intends to vote, which is then used by the media and the blogs to influence everyone else. Nothing is done in all innocence anymore.
It’s no longer a matter of dispute that the mainstream media, overall, very strongly leans to the left. Over 90% of journalists classify themselves politically as "liberal" to varying degrees, and innumerable instances of left-wing bias on the part of the media have been pointed out by bloggers over the years. Yes, a small subset of media outlets are identifiably conservative, but they are vastly outnumbered, both in sheer numbers and in influence, by the liberal media. This fact takes on intense importance in an era when the "news" becomes (as it has become) a subjective matter. Nearly any fact or incident can be "spun" to Obama’s benefit.
Obama’s supporters and his official campaign have taken great advantage of this felicitous informational landscape — first, that the meta-campaign trumps reality, and second, that the media is cooperative and complicit. For example, after presidential debates, the leading left-wing blogs always coordinate massive online opinion-poll-stuffing campaigns. After the Palin-Biden vice-presidential debate, the overwhelming consensus on conservative and centrist blogs was that Palin had won handily, and that Biden spoke mostly in a soporific monotone while spewing a continuous stream of easily debunked falsehoods. And yet readers of DailyKos, the Huffington Post, Democratic Underground and dozens of other top left-wing blogs swarmed en masse to vote (often repeatedly) in mainstream online polls about the debate, so that afterward, CNN (among many others) could run headlines that said "57% Think Biden Won Debate," basing their conclusion on the results of the online polls. And once enough of these articles get published, then they themselves become "proof" of the debate’s supposed outcome, and before long (often just a matter of hours) it becomes a "fact" no longer up for discussion that Biden won the debate. This fact is then referenced by pundits, and slips into supposedly neutral news stories.
The illusory quest for conformist decision-making in the 2008 presidential election
Say, for example, that you were an Obama supporter who watched the Vice Presidential debate and felt that Palin had done well and was a more effective debater than Biden — though not well enough to change your mind about voting for the Obama-Biden ticket. Immediately afterward you encounter an online poll, asking you to vote on who won the debate. What do you do? I suspect that most, if not nearly all, Obama supporters would lie and still vote in the poll that Biden had won the debate, even though they felt that Palin had in fact defeated him. But why do so? As an Obama supporter, you still want your candidate to win, so that every action you take should revolve around only one question: Will this help Obama win? Probably unconsciously, people assume without really thinking about why, that if enough people say Biden won the debate, then a general consensus will be reached that Biden did win the debate, and as a result some vague category of Americans who up until that point had not been Obama supporters will change their allegiances and in reality vote for Obama-Biden on election day.
The Obama campaign itself also takes advantage of the sympathetic media to construct a facade of inevitability. The campaign will stage-manage crowds and dictate camera angles so that Obama is seen to not only have overwhelming numbers of fans but the correct demographic proportion of fans; the campaign will coordinate Obama appearances to coincide with rock concerts or other festivals so they can point to the huge crowds who showed up to watch Obama; and the media plays right along.

McCain supporters often complain about this strategy by the Left, going to great pains to point out the poll stuffing, the deceptive photos, the crowd overestimation, the slanted media coverage, and so forth. But should conservatives be so concerned? I propose that McCain supporters should be GLAD this is happening — because the Left is in fact making a disastrous strategic blunder.
A substantial portion of the Left’s strategy during this campaign is to create the perception that as many people as possible are supporting Obama. They strive to not simply show that he has a lot of supporters (which, obviously, he has), but to purposely inflate or exaggerate the numbers in order to make his support seem larger than it really is. The drive to do this seems almost automatic; it is assumed by Obama’s supporters to be the most effective campaign strategy. It’s so automatic that they perhaps are no longer even aware that it is a strategy. But why? What purpose is possibly served by this behavior? Has anyone on the Left ever paused, stepped back, and asked, "Wait a minute — why are we doing this? Are we sure it’s the correct course of action?" Doing everything possible to inflate the perceived support of Democratic candidates has become so de rigueur that the Left has long ago forgotten why they’re even doing it.

And if you are going to attack someone for being too old and broken to know how to use the Internet it might help to at least be goddamn RIGHT about his NOT using the Internet. From a Forbes article in 2000, when Obama was busy admitting in his loss to a former Black Panther that there wasn’t much difference between them, in this article we find out that McCain was using the Internet in innovative ways.

Abortion…Wasn’t the Argument About Where Life Begins? Hmmm if you are leaving babies to die…hasn’t life begun? What sort of Doctors allow babies to die…nay what sort of human! What sort of politician supports that?

Naturally Obamamessiah supports that…apparently allowing babies to die is NOT above his pay grade.

Obama heard the testimony of a nurse, Jill Stanek. She recounted how she’d spent 45 minutes holding a living baby left to die.

The child had lacked the good grace to expire as planned in an induced-labor abortion — one in which an abortionist artificially induces labor with the expectation that the underdeveloped “fetus, or child — however you want to describe it” will not survive the delivery.

Stanek encountered another nurse carrying the child to a “soiled utility room” where it would be left to die. It wasn’t that unusual. The induced-labor method was used for late-term abortions. Many of the babies were strong enough to survive the delivery. At least for a time.

There wasn’t any question about what was happening. The abortions were going wrong. The babies weren’t cooperating. They wouldn’t die as planned. Or, as Illinois state senator Barack Obama so touchingly put it, there was “movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead.”

No, Senator. They wouldn’t go along with the program. They wouldn’t just come out limp and dead.

Obamamessiah in hearings on a bill to force the medical establishment to give medical care to born alive aborted babies seems to be well within his "Pay Grade" when he makes this astonishing statement!

SENATOR OBAMA: So — and again, I’m — I’m not going to prolong this, but I just want to be clear because I think this was the source of the objections of the Medical Society. As I understand it, this puts the burden on the attending physician who has determined, since they were performing this procedure, that, in fact, this is a nonviable fetus; that if that fetus, or child — however way you want to describe it — is now outside the mother’s womb and the doctor continues to think that it’s nonviable but there’s, let’s say, movement or some indication that, in fact, they’re not just coming out limp and dead, that, in fact, they would then have to call a second physician to monitor and check off and make sure that this is not a live child that could be saved. Is that correct?

Apparently Obamessiah wanted to continue the practice of leaving the babies in the soiled linen closet! Obamamessiah voted against allowing care to be given to these children…yes children. Obamamessiah may try to declare them viable fetuses in an attempt to dehumanize them but we don’t roll that way.

Ironically his declared reason for opposing this legislation was he was afraid that it might be used to overturn ROE vs WADE. Seems to me that bringing the inhumanity of this to light by fighting it did far more damage to ROE vs WADE. Indeed I bet that is why every single other US Senator voted for it including Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton when this went to the US Senate. So he is dangerous to his friends as well as his enemies. That is usually the definition of an idiot.

Obama…Muslim or Apostate or Not? Minority Report, RedState and Instapundit know something that Danial Pipes doesn’t? Or is it all just semantics?

Followed a link from Instapundit: AT REDSTATE, debunking another Obama-is-a-Muslim story.. Hmmm this might be interesting.

I lead off with this snippet from the Red State Article that was itself just a snippet from the original article that was published on the Minority Report.

The fact is, Sen Obama is toast, based on substance and issues. When we allow fools like these purveyors of hate the freedom of spreading lies about our opposition, we also allow our political opponents the right to spread lies in return. RedState: With “Friends” Like This — Credibility On The Net

Exactly right! Minority Report gets it exactly right when it takes to task the sorry post that lied about what Axelrod Said. He did NOT say that Barack was a Muslim. This sentence was made up by the offending “conservative blog”.

But…Minority Report might want to restrain a bit from the Barack is a Muslim is a hoax bit. It may not be quite the hoax you think it is.

However, when “conservatives” on the internet perpetrate a hoax to damage the Democratic nominee, they are in fact damaging their own side in the political debate

The hoax being that Barack is a Muslim. But what if he is? Not by choice but by technicality? I give you snippet from an excellent article by Daniel Pipes. Pay attention in particular to the highlighted text in bold.

Does any of the above information from the Chicago Tribune article refute my analysis, as MMfA contends? It raises questions about two details in the Los Angeles Times account (the accuracy of the Catholic school’s registration form and the reliability of Zulfan Adi as a source on Obama). But on the larger issue of Obama’s religious practices during his Jakarta years, it confirms the Times account. Note in particular three excerpts from Barker’s article:

“Interviews with dozens of former classmates, teachers, neighbors and friends show that Obama was not a regular practicing Muslim when he was in Indonesia” – implying he was an irregularly practicing Muslim.

“Obama occasionally followed his stepfather to the mosque for Friday prayers, a few neighbors said” – confirming that he did pray in the mosque.

“Obama’s 3^rd-grade teacher at the Catholic school, who lived near the family [said that] ‘Rarely, Barry went to the mosque with Lolo’” – confirming that Obama attended mosque services.

All this matters, for if Obama once was a Muslim, he is now what Islamic law calls a murtadd (apostate), an ex-Muslim converted to another religion who must be executed. Were he elected president of the United States, this status, clearly, would have large potential implications for his relationship with the Muslim world.

In sum: Obama was an irregularly practicing Muslim who rarely or occasionally prayed with his step-father in a mosque. This precisely substantiates my statement that he “for some years had a reasonably Muslim upbringing under the auspices of his Indonesian step-father.”

Why do technicalities matter? Because Barack was so adamant about never being a Muslim all of this calls into question his integrity…he is supposed to be different. eh? From Daniel Pipes again.

As Barack Obama’s candidacy comes under increasing scrutiny, his account of his religious upbringing deserves careful attention for what it tells us about the candidate’s integrity.

Obama asserted in December, “I’ve always been a Christian,” and he has adamantly denied ever having been a Muslim. “The only connection I’ve had to Islam is that my grandfather on my father’s side came from that country [Kenya]. But I’ve never practiced Islam.” In February, he claimed: “I have never been a Muslim. … other than my name and the fact that I lived in a populous Muslim country for 4 years when I was a child [Indonesia, 1967-71] I have very little connection to the Islamic religion.”

Never is a pretty strong word. Never use it unless it is true. Minority Report would have better served its readers by pointing out the incongruities of Barack’s past than to take him at his word. Minority Report’s is exactly right that we shouldn’t be making up facts as we go. But we also shouldn’t be ignoring them either. Especially when they show Barack to be a person who lies to the same degree of the blog Minority Report originally and rightfully took to task.

Just the facts.

Washington Post almost gets it all right…they came "that" close! But the snippet of a paragraph below is plainly false. Surprised that Instapundit Didn’t see the Error.

Perhaps it is just a coincidence that prices started falling as soon as there was serious talk in Washington to get rid of the moratorium on drilling. I mean it is possible that it is just a coincidence that the free fall in oil prices just sort of happened after Bush lifted the Presidential Ban on drilling.

Contrary to the baldly political suggestions regarding lower gasoline prices by President Bush and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), drilling would make no impact on today’s pain at the pump because it would be years before any oil flowed from the Outer Continental Shelf. We agree that the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, with its varied and sensitive ecosystems, should be preserved. In the quest for new sources of energy, there are trade-offs. Or maybe those evil speculators that Democrats and ignorant Republicans love to demonize know something that the Washington Post doesn’t. Maybe they know that the tide is turning on easing future supplies. Brazil in the last 28 years has gone from 1.5 billion barrels of reserves to 12 billion in 2007 and in the last year they have discovered enough oil to put them over 20 billion barrels of reserves.

In that same time we have been assured by the Democrats and some Republicans that we shouldn’t be drilling because it would take “years” to get the oil to market.

Peak Oil anyone? Do the peak oil folks realize that we have only explored approximately 6% of the Continental Shelf according to a talk given in Baton Rouge by Senator Mary Landrieu?

Obama says that if we would just inflate our tires and get regular tune ups that we would save as much oil as all the oil that is promised by drilling…hmmm. Hey what about this? What about we inflate our tires, get Hollywood types like Paris and Al Gore out of SUV’S and Private Jets, get regular tune ups AND drill? Weeeeeee…..that will stick it to Chavez and the Terrorists masquerading as Sheiks.

Yesterday, the fine folks over at Americans for Prosperity alerted me to the fact that the election issue of all election issues has been dumped into the GOP’s lap.

You see, on October 1st, 2008, “the existing bans on Outer Continental Shelf drilling and oil shale leasing expire — unless Congress specifically votes to extend the bans.”

What will likely happen, according to AFP is that “Congressional leaders will likely try to sneak an extension into supposedly ‘must-pass’ last-minute spending legislation.”

Republicans, including most importantly, John McCain, should refuse to support ANY legislation that extends the drilling ban. Of course Barrak deflects that criticism by declaring he was only 8 years old when Ayers was setting bombs in Police Departments and the Pentagon, as if one might be forgiven an association with an unrepentant murderer just because a few years have passed. Ah gee fellas Manson murdered those folks a long time ago…yea I know it is a stretch to associate Ayers with Manson. At least we can thank god that Ayers was not as competent as Manson was in regards to killing people. It wasn’t because of a lack of desire though.

Here is Ayers making a name for himself back in his younger days.

Back then he was part of a marvelously incompetent terrorists, The Weathermen (shouldn’t that be the Weatherpersons? Just asking) waging war against the United States. At least that is what they said about it. Here he is quoted in the New York Times:

”I don’t regret setting bombs,” Bill Ayers said. ”I feel we didn’t do enough.” Mr. Ayers, who spent the 1970’s as a fugitive in the Weather Underground, was sitting in the kitchen of his big turn-of-the-19th-century stone house in the Hyde Park district of Chicago. (He lives in Barrak’s neighborhood) The long curly locks in his Wanted poster are shorn, though he wears earrings. He still has tattooed on his neck the rainbow-and-lightning Weathermen logo that appeared on letters taking responsibility for bombings. And he still has the ebullient, ingratiating manner, the apparently intense interest in other people, that made him a charismatic figure in the radical student movement.

Now he has written a book, ”Fugitive Days” (Beacon Press, September). Mr. Ayers, who is 56, calls it a memoir, somewhat coyly perhaps, since he also says some of it is fiction. He writes that he participated in the bombings of New York City Police Headquarters in 1970, of the Capitol building in 1971, the Pentagon in 1972. But Mr. Ayers also seems to want to have it both ways, taking responsibility for daring acts in his youth, then deflecting it.

Latino-vs.-black violence drives hate crimes in L.A. County to 5-year high YIKES! WONDER WHY?

Gee I wonder why things are so screwed up in Los Angeles?

Hate crimes in Los Angeles County rose to their highest level in five years last year, led by attacks between Latinos and blacks, officials said Thursday.

The annual report by the Los Angeles County Human Relations Commission showed hate crimes rose by 28%, to 763, with vandalism and assault leading the way. Latino-vs.-black violence drives hate crimes in L.A. County to 5-year high – Los Angeles Times

Is it because blacks and Hispanics hate each other? Nah…

The largest number of racial hate crimes involved Latino suspects against black victims, followed by black suspects against Latino victims. Latinos also made up the largest number of suspects in hate crimes based on sexual orientation. Whites were the leading suspects in religion-based incidents. Overall, blacks made up nearly half the hate crime victims, totaling 310.

Gee I wonder if this has anything to do with the problem…nah different folks always get along terrifically…just ask the Serbs and Croats.

Brilliant bit of satire that captures perfectly the idiocy the campaign of Obamamessiah. Naturally an Englishman wrote it.

The Sounds of Silence…how Illegal Immigration is, the Elephant in the Room!

In an otherwise fantastic article about immigration Robert Samuelson stumbles at the finish line.

Grasping this, our leading politicians engage in a consensual censorship to skip issues that involve distasteful choices or that require deferred gratification. They prefer to assign blame and promise benefits. So elections come and go, there are winners and losers — and our problems fester. There is a group of folks who are supposed to prevent this sort of collusion. Rush calls them the Drive By Media for a reason though. Reporters covering both candidates should be hammering them on this crucial issue. Smoke them out and make them take stands. Instead we have a bunch of folks who by and large seem to be rooting for whomever they might be covering and because of this they almost have a stake in “their” candidate winning.

Sickening as it may be, it is an indication of just how shallow we have become as a people. We are getting both the press and the politicians we deserve…

So then Osama/Obama says that he is sorry that he did that deal with Rezko…hmm one thing for sure Osama/Obama sure has a propensity to throw long time supporters under the bus. Which to me means that he must have a quid pro quo with them. They take the fall gracefully, for the most part we all know that Wright doesn’t know the meaning of gracefully, and he bails them out of whatever trouble they are in once he becomes President. Sounds like a very dangerous man.

Rezko Guilty on 16 Counts Accused Political Fixer Has Ties to Barack Obama

A federal jury in Chicago Wednesday found Antoin “Tony” Rezko guilty on 16 of 24 counts.

The jury’s deliberations on the fate of the 52-year-old Chicago developer and political fixer stretched over 13 days, as they weighed the evidence and testimony on whether and how Rezko had illegally trafficked in access to politicians and political favors.

GREAT NEWS! Bardot convicted of Racial Hatred by the French…Poor little Hajji’s want to be able to act like tribes inside of France.

Typical, it takes a French woman to stand up to the Islamic tribes overrunning France.

PARIS — Brigitte Bardot was convicted Tuesday of provoking discrimination and racial hatred for writing that Muslims are destroying France.

A Paris court also handed down a $23,325 fine against the former screen siren and animal rights campaigner. The court also ordered Bardot to pay $1,555 in damages to MRAP.

Tigerhawk explains the correct way to look at energy and our use of it. I only want to add that if you are a liar you tend to view everyone else as liars. If you are a thief you tend to view others as thieves. Since the left makes it’s living as thieves of the labor of others it colors their entire world view. We will never convince them that there might be other explanations for wealth. They simply cannot conceive that wealth is created by working for it, it is so much easier to steal it. You can spot them in schools because they are the ones cheating.

But most peoples of the world (including American leftists) do not understand this — which is why they do not invent anything important — and instead view American wealth as if it were looted, rather than created. However, there is one overriding problem that dwarfs all the others, a problem that few people in the leadership of the Republican Party seem to have come to grips with. (CNN) — A teenager pleaded guilty Friday to a federal hate crime of threatening and intimidating civil rights marchers near Jena, Louisiana, last year by displaying hangman’s nooses from the back of a pickup truck.

One goes to jail, the other one goes to the White House if his man wins. Hmm…methinks that might just beget more of the first sort of ignorant and stupid behavior.

Course maybe I am just ignorant and stupid. Maybe we have already gone past the point where we can rein it back in. After all did you read about the Wichita Massacre? I think it is pretty damn insulting to law abiding black folks that dumb white folks buried this story.

Bush tells Chinese "We made an oopsy so sorry we sent nuclear weapon parts to Taiwan"

So yesterday we claimed that we mistakenly delivered empty nuclear missile nose cones.

WASHINGTON, March 25, 2008 – The U.S. military has regained control of four non-nuclear nose cone assemblies for a Minuteman missile mistakenly sent to Taiwan in 2006, Air Force Secretary Michael W. Wynne said during a news conference here today.

Today we claimed that the empty nose cones were actually the nuclear missile fuses for intercontinental ballistic missiles. Weeee!

Hey I am all for protesting the Chinese Government for their general thuggishness but how about we ramp it up a bit faster than sending nuclear weapons into Taiwan a piece at a time? Oh hell how do you make fun of idiocy this monumental?
